Martha McSally chosen to fill late Senator McCain's seat

Martha McSally has reportedly been chosen to fill the Senate seat once filled by late Senator John McCain.

Governor Doug Ducey appointed her to the position Tuesday morning.

He said in a tweet: "All her life, (McSally) has put service first — leading in the toughest of fights. With her experience and record of service, Martha is uniquely qualified to fight for #Arizona in the U.S. Senate."

My opinion is that this is a poor choice by Governor Ducey meant to placate weak establishment Republicans. Despite Trump going in for her in the recent failed attempt, she will let him (and us) down repeatedly just as she did in the House.

I have no problem with McSally. Not a lot of alternatives. Arizonians were willing to vote for her. Don't throw her away.

Now concentrate on a 2020 candidate. She may surprise you though.

That's what worries me. Kyl was a solid vote in our favor. I don't trust McSally not to join the RINO block led by Mittens. From blowing the election to replace Sessions through the poor showing in the midterms, the Republicans have given away far too many seats and it's going to bite us big time.

I know all that. Colonels and Navy Captains want their first star. But most in congress who go squishy are lower in field grade.

And there are no retired Captains or Colonels in congress.
