(SPRINGFIELD, Mo.) A Missouri poacher has been ordered to repeatedly watch the movie Bambi as part of his sentence for illegally killing hundreds of deer.
The Springfield News-Leader reports that David Berry Jr. was ordered to watch the Disney classic at least once a month during his year-long jail sentence in what conservation agents are calling one of the largest deer poaching cases in state history.

So he will get so much happiness from seeing Bambi’s mother killed he will finally be satisfied?

Was this intended as rehabilitation or punishment?
That is cruel AND unusual..........................
My exact reaction, unConstitutuional punishment.
I read about this earlier and didn’t realize this scum had taken hundreds of poached deer.
I don’t care about the judges movie choices. One year isn’t enough time.
meant to humanize the deer?
Certainly isn’t “ A Clockwork Orange”
After viewing he will vow to NEVER kill ANY talking deer.
I guess Gov. Cuomo was wrong, then.................

Make him watch Deer Hunter. I think he’d enjoy that film.
Personally, given there are more deer by far in my state than people, and they are basically giant vermin as far as I’m concerned, I really don’t have any issue with someone poaching them as long as they are eating them.
If he was hunting for food I wouldn’t care. But this “Prosecutors say the deer were killed for their heads, with their bodies left to rot.” ... that’s just a waste of good venison.
So, the truth comes out... Bambi really WAS an indoctrination film.
“Yeah, it’s very sad when the guy stops drawing the deer.” — Chandler Bing
Well isn’t that just special?
What a dumb penalty. Hundreds of deer? Why do I doubt that.
So when he sees the mother getting taken out he will think “Mmmm, some lucky slob got some awesome Venison”, and That’s supposed to teach him a lesson?
Bambi? I want to see a picture of the judge. Was Roger Rabbit presiding?
Hmm... It appears that most judges are functional morons nowadays...
