The United States must revamp policies toward Africa on improving trade, fighting terrorism, and providing financial assistance to stave off the growing influence of China and Russia on the continent, White House national security adviser John Bolton said.
“Great power competitors, namely China and Russia, are rapidly expanding their financial and political influence across Africa,” Bolton said Thursday in an address at The Heritage Foundation in Washington. “They are deliberately and aggressively targeting their investments in the region to gain a competitive advantage over the United States.”
[snip]“The predatory practices pursued by China and Russia stunt economic growth in Africa; threaten the financial independence of African nations; inhibit opportunities for U.S. investment; interfere with U.S. military operations; and pose a significant threat to U.S. national security interests,” Bolton said.

I suspect they will find that Africa is more trouble than it is worth. The days when wealth consisted of diamonds and gold are over.

We can start by sending Bolton as US Ambassador to Zimbabwe, and when he has recovered and secured all US Interests there, promote him to Ambassador to South Africa where he can secure Private Property Interests there.
He can stay there till he gets it done, then deal with the endemic Ebola, again, there.
Who cares? What comes out of Africa? Extreme poverty, AIDS and pandemic diseases.

Africa is a place we can safely LEAVE ALONE. They don’t have nukes, they don’t launch global wars. They don’t border the USA and are separated by oceans. If they have something worth selling, they will sell it to whoever pays them cash for it. Stay out.

But then again - what do they know? FR is always right, and there’s no strategic purpose there. Nothing but huts and dung and cattle reared by pot-bellied children. Even the posts I made a week ago (where I put a pic of a sub-city that popped up in Nairobi in less than ten years, or data speeds in those huts being faster than the US) are misguided. And China coming to take all the minerals, and establish significant political and logistical (read: military) links is all a lie.
I am humbled to live at an age where I can see the ills that affected the Roman Empire happen in real time before my eyes. Hopefully there are more in positions of power that are awake, and based on the meetings last month I am SO GLAD that the Trump Administration is mostly manned by rational business and security minded individuals that understand the folly of standing there and doing nothing.
In the same way people can sleep soundly in their beds because brave Americans with rifles keep them safe, people can similarly possess geopolitical ideas of folly and hubris because smart men and women run the country. May God bless those smart men and women, for when the last ones go the nation will inevitably fall.
Bolton is an extreme globalist. President Trump was elected to get us out of these insane Deep State adventures. I’m not amused.
Actually, the anti-American left-wing coup attempt taking place right now in America, which itself does incorporate a real conspiracy with, AND false information derived from actors within the Kremlin, which was paid for with money originally from the Clinton campaign, **is playing right into the middle of what appears to be, or may well be, a much larger scheme, or intentional diversion from Moscow and Putin, to *re-establish it’s strategic borders (to include Ukraine), and to re-establish dominant geopolitical influence throughout the Middle East.
An honest look at the bigger picture, seems to reveal Putin and Moscow are utilizing the left-wing coup against Trump by left-wing socialist in Washington, (a coup attempt partially derived from the Kremlin), to gain outright control of Ukraine, formally create a dangerous Moscow/Ankara alliance, flip Saudi Arabia against the US and Trump, and thereby re-establishing dominant geopolitical control of the energy supply of most of Europe, and China!
Reiterating it again - *The entire attempted coup against Trump, which is going on right now!, (which does in part derive from false information from the Kremlin), is vastly serving the desires and both theater and strategic, and economic interest of Russia and China, to weaken the US and Europe, and to force the subservience of European foreign policy into Russian and Chinese compliance.
Our President, and John Bolton are fight for our existence, and that of Europe, and most are too stupid, naive, and self focused to even see or care!
Foreign entanglements have ripped the country apart and put the Republic off course.
Actually Trump was elected by a demoralized public to curb illegal immigration, help kill Obamacare, to pick Supreme Court justices, and to roll back all the PC & pervert bullcrap the Democrats have been shoveling.
