New York – New York Attorney Gen.-elect Letitia James says she plans to launch sweeping investigations into President Donald Trump, his family and “anyone” in his circle who may have violated the law once she settles into her new job next month.
“We will use every area of the law to investigate President Trump and his business transactions and that of his family as well,” James, a Democrat, told NBC News in her first extensive interview since she was elected last month.
James outlined some of the probes she intends to pursue with regard to the president, his businesses and his family members.

I attended many Tea Party rallies and donated to support the events. We had a great chance to mount a serious effort to organize and mobilize a new conservative political movement. Alas, not enough “patriots” were willing to get off their couches to show up and actually do something.

But I would call it a personal vendetta of some kind.
As someone else stated in another post, she has just poisoned the well in regards to anything she plans on going after the Trump name for.
She reminds me of that state attorney Angela Corey, the prosecutor going after George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin. She was a camera hog and got up in front of the cameras and grandstanded her way out of job.
She too had poisoned the well of impartiality and fairness and was taken to task for it.
Her office lost the trial and she lost re-election 3 years later. She over-charged and made biased statements in public about convicting George Zimmerman before any evidence was presented.
Let's hope this James gal gets her just desserts as well.

My husband and I formed and worked in a tea party group. We saw the very same thing. The same few would do all the work.
One thing that is scary to me, is that I think older Conservatives do not see how much they are under the control of Government. From Social Security to Medicare etc. This isn’t by accident, we fell right into it. It can be held over our heads if we don’t comply.

Definitely. Free Republic posts and tweets are increasing at an alarming rate.
Responsible men are naturally slow to war. War cant be half fought and bullets cant be called back. Many are waiting for the people in authority to do their damned job and start applying the law. The reason great anger is building is that the law has been dismissed by the side that is fighting in their vicious feminine cowardly way.
I first spoke to others about an inevitable war 20 yrs ago. I said I thought it would come in about 20 years. Here we are, throwing around the term civil war like it’s nothing. War is not nothing. War is hell on earth. It is a vast waste and even the most committed to it despise and lament it. Men with a sense of responsibility will bring it, sadly and with the determination to finish it. A terrible terrible thing.

Those without sin may cast the first stone. Anyone proposing investigating Trump should have their past laid out for public scrutiny first.
Plans? When did they ever stop weaponizing the office to target political opposition?
The only difference now is that with Trump they are dropping any pretense of being normal and civil human beings.
Based on her prejudicial statements to a full court press, the NY Attorney General’s office must be recused from
any investigation or prosecution of any case involving Trump or his family.

Agreed, but look at the latest scrape with Kamala Harris. After she went full cat fight with Justice Kavanaugh over alleged sexual harassment thanks to false repressed memories, her top aide resigns in disgrace over proven sexual harassment in her office. She pulled the "Obama Defense". You know, "I first heard about it when I read about it in the newspaper like you peons".
I'm willing to bet that she gets a pass on this one, too. Mainly because the Demonrats have designated her as "the next One" in either 2020 or 2024.
