A married mother of two and meteorologist for Fox 2 Detroit died by suicide, the station said Thursday.

Jessica Starr, 35, who lived in Novi, Michigan, is survived by her husband, Dan, and her two children, a 5-year-old son named Noah, and a 3-year-old daughter named Riley, the Springfield News-Sun reported. The station did not provide more details about her death.

Prior to her death, Starr spoke out publicly about her recovery from Lasik surgery, which she had done in October. She was out of work for several weeks and struggled with dry eye following the procedure, reported the Detroit Free Press.

Starr posted a video on her Facebook page on Nov. 13 explaining her absence. She announced that she was back at work but still in the recovery process and dealing with blurry vision.

Your morality is worthless.

Save your pity for the surviving family too numb by the shock of their loved one violently leaving them alone.

Suicides leave this world behind and let their shattered families clean up the mess(literally) the selfish leave behind.

I know too many friends and classmates who killed themselves because they couldn’t handle the situation they made themselves and “opted out” Leaving wives homeless because the husband got hooked on drugs and spent the family finances on his habit.

Once the funeral is over, “concerned” people like you disappear

No pity for survivors...

No headlines to show your ....concern.

Your concern is worthless.

THAT was a disgusting comment. Shame on you.

And yet you approve the following comments about tormented people who commit suicide?:

I will never again pity these kind of people.

Well shame on you too Ann, you're just another disgusting so called Christian who is a hypocrite.

And just where were all these “life is precious” people while she still teetered on the edge? Where WERE they?

Sadly true friends are few and far between.

Too often they are surrounded by the "fake pity people" who only show their concern after the obituary hits the newspaper.

Or Free Republic.

It’s a sin (as in single sin, as distinguished from course of sin) that the Evil One can beckon on by infesting a mind with a sufficiently blue note. The weather gal’s physical eyes were not the problem — and it was well known that sometimes Lasik has to be revised for best results. Her spiritual eyes were the problem. Did you know that even Christians can be short sighted? The bible says so.

An act like this would not delete an existing salvation, but it would mar one’s reward, standing out like a sore thumb at the end when the work, either of God or the enemy, is sorted out in a life. Once one is past this world, one can’t do any more good in it — one can’t share gospel with any more sinners. For that reason I am in no particular hurry to leave.

I sure wish these “life is precious” people would use that motto not just to condemn but also to succor, for a change!

You are blind that you are not included? Wow how blind. All you can say is “if you do, I’ll hate and loath you forever”? They may figure that well, since in their temporarily muddied spiritual sight they are hated and loathed anyhow, what difference does it make!

Good grief, who has the presence of mind to glorify God?

The simian seems to be all tied up in the wallowing of the family, rather than applying the wise counsel to glorify God.

Very very very sad.

Look, I know people who have had complications and problems after eye surgery. Frustrating, yes. Suicide? No.

Something else was happening in this young lady’s life. Pray for her children. Pray for God to give them a mom.

Heartbreaking.

Doubtless the physical vision problems weren’t the only thing that got the young lady down. I know Christians who are sad over eye trouble.

Can you prove that there is even a scintilla of “self righteous piety” that doesn’t apply, mutando mutandis, to YOU?

Ah, why did you not cite psychiatric cases?

Because that’s a huge lacuna in your sight. That’s why.

The situation being a friendship with you? No wonder.

You can melt the calcium out of your eye with vitamin D3 and K2.

It will also clear out your arteries, and bone spurs over time.

I’m glad for your outcome. That’s amazing. The office manager just had the same surgeries and schedule. She’s reported this same results, when it works it’s great.

re: "I wore glasses from the age of 4, and never would consider any surgery. At about 50, I developed cataracts, and ended up having both lenses replaced. Both eyes are fine now, but I would never have had any surgery if it had not been a choice of surgery or blindness."

I was down to legally blind coming into 2018 and very little sight by the time March-April rolled around ... had to call a friend to drive me to get groceries because I was down to using a cane to walk safely but my walking pace was really slow! It was amazing how fast these cataracts progressed as they became worse.

Successful cat surgery by Jeffrey Whitman, M.D., President and Chief Surgeon of the Key-Whitman Eye Center did wonders in July and August to left and right eyes respectively. Full sight now exc left eye needs a bit of lens for all distances and the right only for close-up ...

Praise be to God and thank you Dr Whitman!
