EMMANUEL Macron's government faces a vote of no confidence in parliament on Thursday amid nationwide anger at the French president which has seen violent riots across the country. Mr Macron's leadership is hanging by a thread after the Yellow Vest protests posed the most formidable challenge yet to his presidency. Leftist MEPs said Thursday's vote is the result of 18 months of fiscal injustice and called on the French president to "radically change direction". The Paris protests which erupted on November 17, were focused on denouncing a squeeze on household spending brought about by Mr Macron's taxes on diesel, which he said were necessary to combat climate change and protect the environment.

Your travels have made you a good watcher of events.
Pithy input offered on FR is a stand-out gift to FR these ‘daze’.
Thanks for a good example of what this site can offer.
We already did it. He will have to run home to mommy. Oh wait, he already has. He married her. So to speak.
Im in France right now (in Paris) and its not in chaos.
People on FR have misunderstood a lot of this.
Macron is a total jerk, and if he had actually taken his nose out of the clouds and addressed people - ever, at any moment, but especially last week - this might be different.
He was actually trying to make reforms that would have cut back on the giant welfare state, made high school students meet standards that had been relaxed to the point of meaninglessness (and of course the students have now declared every Tuesday as Black Tuesday, because they plan to take the day off to riot) and made France more competitive. And thats what the French were protesting...they wanted more socialism, not less.
But what was ignored by both Macron and the press is that the complaints of the original yellow vests related to Islamic immigration and paying for this insane EU climate change compact.
The French are fine with African or Middle Eastern Christians, and this has nothing to do with racism, but simply with the fact that, as we saw in Strasbourg yesterday, Muslims of any race or nationality dont play well with others and have a conquest mentality.
And as for the climate change stuff, I happened to arrive last weekend while the anarchist riots were going on in one part of town...while in another there was an anti climate change and pro Global Compact march going on...attended by thousands of people, and, alas, including a large number of yellow vests. So dont think the yellow vests are some kind of freedom fighters.
All we need now are beheadings just like the good ole days of the monarchy and we’re all set..
GUILLOTINE!
I thought the sheeple voted for Socialism?
What, they don’t ACTUALLY want it now?
Ok, keep the penis of the deep state empire up your bung hole in the name of "union". So fun, isn't it?
We can form defense pacts - this isn't rocket surgery. Empires(which is what the USA is now) have dissolved all throughout time.
They still have Guillotines, right?
5.56mm
Works for me.
Better an African Christian than an Albanian or Bosnian Muslim any day, even if the latter are native white Europeans.
Welcome to Free Republic!
Your debate tactics are so mature. Not.
Ask Poland how well defense packs work out, rocket scientist.
Nice. They could be Teletubbies, too.
Marie Antoinette : Let them eat cake & she lost her head....let them carpool.
Good one!
EU will remain in chaos as long as there are mosques and muzzies in their countries. Get rid of them and things will return to normal again. Guaranteed!
No, that doesnt address the secularism and liberalism and pagan ideas replacing Christianity that are the root of the problem.
LOL...very good!!
I just don’t really feel sorry for Macron ... nor May.
Should I?
I DO wish GB would leave the EU.
[ His basic problem is he has false assumptions about the nature of reality.
He thinks “climate change” is important; moreover, he thinks all thinking people agree with him, and those that do not are of no consequence. ]
So, you’re saying he’s basically an American Democrat, over in France.
