Arrest the democrat leadership and their deputies, and start a federal convict labor program.
Just speculating..but suppose Trump “shuts the government down”, i.e. implements the plan that would affect about 25% of the federal budget that is involved, which includes DHS.
We can’t be without sufficient border security, so if DHS is furloughed then Trump could deploy the military during the shutdown. And what’s the price of removing the military? Funding for the wall. Still refuse? Then he could direct the military to build the wall as a part of their security enforcement duty.
I’m just thinking he could be playing the long game here.
Sadly I suspect if Trump tried to use the military, it’d be stopped almost immediately by congress and/or the courts. Ryan and McConnell already passed legislation, if I recall correctly, that prohibited DoD funds to build the wall.
Congress can cut funding, but they can’t command the military. Neither can the Judiciary.
