They make beds in inns across the country. They pick oranges in Florida, strawberries in California and vegetables in Ohio. And they have built new subdivisions in Phoenix, Atlanta and Charlotte.
For years, policymakers have talked about shutting off the influx of undocumented workers. But the economy has grown to rely on them.
Ending illegal immigration, say many of those who have studied the issue, could mean that American workers would lose their jobs, companies would close and the economy would contract.

If they are truly needed to do these jobs, they should be given work permits so they could work legally.
Those 8 million WORKING picking oranges and strawberries, and washing dishes in diners and mowing your lawn are not the real problem.
It is those other 22 million illegals who are feeding at the trough of welfare, many committing serious crimes and voting illegally are the real problem.
It is better to have an inevitable recession than have the non inevitable but more destructive elimination of the rule of law.

Trump should use the IRS and the “Fight for 15” argument to fix this problem.
Hire an illegal, the IRS starts fining you the missing tax revue from a 15 buck an hour job’s worth of tax revenue, per illegal worker at 40 hour work week per 52 weeks of the year even if you hired the illegal on the last week of December.
All tax money collected from this gets 10% taken off to pay for the wall.
This sh!t would fix itself quickly.

A 6 month work visa could stipulate that the holder leaves the country during the Christmas holidays. Go home, see their families while our families get by without them.
