FBI agents served a federal search warrant at a lice removal salon in Los Altos Wednesday (Dec. 5) morning, but declined to say what the investigation was about.
Agents showed up at LoveBugs Lice Removal, located at the Rancho Shopping Center, around 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to an employee at the 76 gas station nearby who said a customer had seen the agents.
FBI spokeswoman Cameron Rogers Polan declined to say what the investigation was about because, she said, the affidavit supporting the warrant had been sealed by a judge. LoveBugs founder Marika Mavromatis did not return multiple requests for comment.
Mavromatis developed the salon’s nontoxic, all-natural lice removal technique in Greece before emigrating to the U.S. in 1955 and becoming an American citizen, according to the salon’s website.
The salon has been operating in Los Altos for more than a decade and has a second location in Lafayette.

Sounds lousy to me.
I see all the comments that are humorous, but I may remind you that sex trafficked children are not kept in hygienic conditions and they may have been brought here to be de-liced before being sold to their “clients”....
If this isn’t the FBI wasting our money I would assume it would be for this reason alone.
[ my guess is it was a front for other illegal activities…think about it how much money can you make treating people with lice. ]
Those who sell sex trafficked children would use a place like this. It would be a great place to “clean them up” and le-louse them before they are sold to their sick monster pedophile satanic clients.

Thirty years ago, and I had hair, we had an outbreak of head lice in the school so all of us adults also took a lice treatment. Family used the popular treatment, I used a coal tar remedy for lice and dandruff. It was so strong, after using it I had to pour dish washing soap in my hair to remove it. It worked!
Dr. Something or other Coal Tar Dandruff Treatment. Can’t remember his exact name.
A few months later I was in a drug store in the pet isle and there was DR SOMETHING OR OTHER COAL TREATMENT FOR MANGE. Same bottle, same label, just “Mange” had replaced the words “Lice and Dandruff”.
Literal nit pickers get paid $50 an hour or more to remove pesticide resistant nits.
I thought that only worked for crabs.
What an awful thought...but plausible. Except this is an area with extremely high priced commercial space. If that were the case, you’d think it would be in the barrios in LA or East San Jose or in the Central Valley. It’s weird. Maybe it’s a case of hiding in plain sight.
