According to the article, Ayers said he could not commit to serving beyond the first three months of next year. Trump originally agreed but then said he wanted someone to stay longer. Ayers would not agree to commit longer, so he’s out.

The Deep State probably figures that Trump will be out by March and Ayers will continue as President Pence’s chief of staff.

That makes no sense, who takes a job like that for such a short time? Why would such a ridiculous idea even be on the table?

Pretty flaky isn’t it? I mean, if he has a commitment to do something else three months from now why wouldn’t he have given Pence notice already and everybody concerned have known he is not a candidate?

He isn’t a Trump devotee. He isn’t even a Trump ideals devotee. He is a Nick Ayers devotee. Working for Trump does not fit his strategy. He sees no long term benefit for hitching up to that wagon. Trump will be out of the fracas in 2 to 6 years and he doesn’t do people favors. Everything with him is a business proposition.
