Republican Senator Ted Cruz has just upped the ante on the contentious battle with the newly-emboldened Democrats over President Trumps proposed border wall.
The Texan who is fresh off of his defeat of liberal rock star Beto ORourke just introduced a bill to fully fund the wall at $25 billion which will infuriate Democrats who are already engaged in a game of guts poker with Republicans over shutting down the government.
Trump has been firm in his request for the funding of a key election promise and as recently as Friday blasted Democrats for playing games over what given the recent proliferation of migrant caravans of thousands that are not only riddled with aspiring refugees who have infectious diseases but also are a perfect cover for criminal elements and possibly terrorists in what has become less about immigration and more about national security.

He has plenty of support here on Free Republic for another usurpation.
Some are even willing to make Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids, born in Yemen to one citizen parent, eligible to be President just so he can run.
“The traitors in the GOP establishment are not quite as dangerous as the traitors in the democrat socialist party”
The problem being the same people or groups be owning both of them.
Does anybody even pretend to observe the constitutional requirement that spending bills originate in the House? I think that went out the window during Bill Clinton’s first term.
Nope. I wouldn't be surprised if Cruz's motivation is to impress Deplorables for future goals.
The Gop still playing the game.
DC. Dominated by GOP for 2 years. Just now does this half-hearted effort begin. What a delusion. Clearly GOP does not actually want the border closed. Clearly GOP and DC are run by powers behind the curtain.
Think about the hundreds of billions of hard earned American tax $$$’s spent on the “War on Drugs” since introduced back in Nixon days. 25 billion would look like a drop in the bucket compared to the money spent.
This thought will piss ya off...think about the hundreds of billions that could have been SAVED if there was a wall built back 40 years ago. Back then, the wall probably would have cost 7 billion rather than 25 billion.
It's all kabuki theater...the main cast? Both Dems and Pubs. They've never wanted a wall, either side of the aisle.
As for spending bills originating in the House I would refer to Article 1, Swction 7.
“All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with amendments as on other Bills.”
My understanding is that while this bill calls for spending 25 billion, it doesn’t call for raising of any new revenue. It is a reallocation of existing revenue. A technicality maybe, but that is what law consist of.
Edit: Swction = Section
Old eyes and fat fingers, sorry
Rafael doesn’t need to worry about another primary until 2024.

It will be interesting to follow his posturing if Trump runs again.
Well, Ted & Beto both voted to give Israel $38 billion, so I am sure we can’t afford a Border Wall for our own Country.
If the government shuts down, is Mueller shut down?
Can Trump issue an executive order that no government worker will get back pay if they don’t work during the shutdown or they can take vacation days.
