Republican Senator Ted Cruz has just upped the ante on the contentious battle with the newly-emboldened Democrats over President Trumps proposed border wall.
The Texan who is fresh off of his defeat of liberal rock star Beto ORourke just introduced a bill to fully fund the wall at $25 billion which will infuriate Democrats who are already engaged in a game of guts poker with Republicans over shutting down the government.
Trump has been firm in his request for the funding of a key election promise and as recently as Friday blasted Democrats for playing games over what given the recent proliferation of migrant caravans of thousands that are not only riddled with aspiring refugees who have infectious diseases but also are a perfect cover for criminal elements and possibly terrorists in what has become less about immigration and more about national security.

Won’t pass in the house...
Sen. Ted Cruz, others announce bill to fund $25 billion border wall
This HAD to originate in the HOR. It's a spending Bill.
Exactly. It’s a lovely symbolic proposal, but it should have been done two years ago. With the loss of the House, it’s far too late for it to happen for real. The traitors in the GOP establishment are not quite as dangerous as the traitors in the democrat socialist party, but they are close.
Right, this is just theater. It won’t pass Ryan’s house.
This was news early last week, I guess that word has just reached the proprietor of this blog? Which should be in Bloggers, not News.
And it certainly won’t pass Pelosi’s House.
Someone needs to make a large chart-—The cost of the Wall on the Right side——& the cost of all the benefits/crime/homelessness/ etc on the Left Side of the chart.
I am pretty sure the ANNUAL cost of illegals being here is over 9 times the cost -—one time—of the WALL.
This has to be concise & plain for every single Congress person to see & for the media to have shoved into their faces.
Cruz stumping for the 2020 primary vote....???
Yes. The GOP has done a poor job on this. I dont blame all of them though. A lot of the prime offenders in fact are gone in January. Flake for example. You can throw rocks at the GOP for a tolerating Flake and his co-conspirators. However you also note that as bad as Flake was his Dem replacement will be worse.
The solution is to create a single bucket for all welfare, for US Citizens and illegals. Once it is spent, there is no more until next year. This will force Congress to disclose how much is spent on welfare and see how US Citizens on welfare like the illegals competing for and possibly limiting the handout.
This should have been the first order of busiess two years ago. Trump was elected pledging to build the wall, so this should have been the first bill. Probably could have “compromised” (Art of the Deal) down to $12.5 Billion and we’d be on our way. I don’t think the end cost would be $25B anyway...Trump could get it done for half that amount and he’d roll thru 2020.
the new people havent taken office yet.
This is a false canard as all spending bills must originate in the US House according to our US Constitution.
Bingo!
Unless it is Obama Care.
Weve been dancing this RINO two step for ever. Why theyre at it why not a bill that cant pass the house to repeal Obamacare too?

too simple for these swampers to understand
My guess is that the $25 billion will be added in the Senate, then cut in half as a compromise in the conference committee. Pelosi and crew will denounce Trump and the Senate but vote for the final take-it-or-leave-it package with the additional border wall funding in order to keep the government running.
