Nothing as funny as the “revolution eats its own” phase.

We saw this coming when the SJW mob forced Al Franken out of the U.S. Senate seat he stole for a photo taken a decade earlier.

Most people don’t care about the Oscars. As the ratings have shown, fewer and fewer people each year watch them. This is due, in part, to the fact that the Oscars hold so many of us in contempt

This is incorrect.

Nobody cares about the "Oscars" because the films being awarded are unworthy. The awarded films are dreary, poorly written, shabby directed, and over-acted ego strokes that are attempting to advance an agenda, not entertain.

Last film I paid $$$ to see was American Sniper.

Why do people fear basement dwelling keyboard komandoes? I can understand how doxing can be a problem, but darned if I would bend over backward for something I said, particularly in jest.

“James Gunn, was fired when years-old stupid tweets “

One tweet read: ‘I like when little boys touch me in my silly place.’

That’s not stupid, that’s sick.

Ah yes, the hagiography of the snowflakes, the triumph of the most easily offended which leads inevitably to ever greater efforts at being offended because the real rewards of the victim trophy. This is a prime and unexpected side-effect of the internet non-press, the ability of the basement dwellers to influence the rest of the world. When the ‘press’ was measured by the cost of the column-inch or the broadcast minute, there were eagle-eyed editors, answerable to their cost-conscious masters, to winnow the wheat from this chaff.

The Oscars, along with the other pop-culture award shows, are a prime example of what is now infecting the internet, the ability of the ephemeral movie people to gain publicity by acting outrageously. This has been done for decades but now, with the effective primacy of the LEFT and its chosen cohorts of the MSM and pop-culture, it is magnified.

I haven’t watched any of these for decades yet the MSM is always ready to tell of their importance in my life. Water off a duck’s back for me!

Good article. Too grew up with “sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me”, and I tell that to my grandchildren every time I think they need to hear it.

I quit giving what little care I had for the Oscars when Hollywood picked the vapid Shakespeare in Love over Saving Private Ryan.

Forgiveness is also apparently out the window. Anyone committing the sin of not being politically correct must be destroyed.

the oscars are awards for people who pretend for a living.

I’d rather support awards for people who actually do some thing in their lives not pretend to be someone or have done something.

the older I get the more it amazes me we celebrate pretenders (celebrities and many politicians, many leaders of various organizations who are just do nothing figureheads) and they get paid huge amounts of money and lavished with perks, yet most of us live daily lives doing thousands of unrecognized more important things.

This just reflects the reality that Americans are no longer bound by a reasonable consensus of values, morals and identity. The “values” demonstrated at the Oscars offend and alienate a narrow majority of Americans but are consistent with a large percentage that embrace the decadence and hedonism. Sorry just the way it is. People at their core have little in common with their neighbors.

I don’t wish to see Kevin Hart completely ostracized from Hollywood, but has no one asked the obvious question? If his long ago comments disqualify him from hosting the Oscars, shouldn’t they disqualify him from future movie and TV roles? I mean that’s what happened to Micheal Richards. It seems to me if you’re impure, you’re impure. From a SJW point of view. Or has he already gone trough re-education? I thought he refused to apologize.

We have to stop watching a 40 year old seasonal song, Baby its cold outside, but Beyonce and JZ are celebrated at the former administrations White House, dressing like whores and saying words that are very offensive to me.

The marxists are using employers to eliminate free speech. While I agree that what you say on company time is the company’s business, your speech on your time is not the company’s business. Let’s not forget the social media tyrants and the SPLC either. Who are these people to take it upon themselves to eliminate free speech? This is what needs to be stopped immediately using any means necessary.

If Turner Classics or Hallmark were to rebroadcast older Oscars with Bob Hope as MC opposite the current Oscars I would bet that in a few years the ratings would be better that the current Oscars.

Better yet to be jailed.
