Every weekend around this time of year, the living-room TV in Tim Gatess Pittsburgh home is tuned to the Hallmark Channel. His wife and teenage daughter watch the networks original Christmas movies all day long.
Mr. Gates usually sits down and teases them about the movies, which feature predictable plotlines and tropes. Next thing I know, Im sucked in for a half-hour, 45 minutes, he says.

Both my wife and daughter.....I find other things to do
Not on Hallmark thankfully.
Multi-ethnic Christmas dinner is possible.
The rest is not to be found.
You will see couples trying to raise their kids or sometimes someone else's kids.
You will see people give up things for love. Sometimes not expecting anything back.
God and Christianity may appear and when they do they will be treated respectfully.
No bed hopping will happen.
The bad guys will get what is coming to them, virtue will be rewarded.
Families will be together and love each other.
I have no idea why some people think that this is a bad thing. It actually is a weapon in the fight against the downfall of Western Civilization by showing it in a positive light.
You may have more faith in Hallmark screenwriters than me. They mostly think IMO that normal Christian values belong to white bigots who cling to guns and hate those who are different from them and who need to be reeducated.
The bottom line is market share and yes I am that cynical. Producers already know that a ranting Murphy Brown or Rosie O’Doughnuts is going to turn viewers off and scare off advertisers. So they soften their societal depictions.
All I see is actrons reading scripts; cardboard humans and about as deep.
Girl engaged to jerk. Dumps him for mister right. My wife loves them, so I watch too.
One is under constant fire from the left for their lack of "diversity" and "catering to Trump's America".
The other is beloved by the left with the white straight male sure to be the villain.
tonight I’m watching a TBN movie.....its pretty good...
isn’t it nice to sit down to a movie and not have to be embarrassed or horrified.....to smile....to see pleasant people none of whom say F..k or s..t etc....no strip tease....no farts, poop or hiv...no multi genders....
Justified....one of the BEST shows ever on tv.....
Liberals feel guilty watching them.

Ha ha ha that is exactly every movie.
You can get almost all Hallmark Christmas movies on YouTube. Just search on “Hallmark Christmas Movies”.
It is a man card thing.
My favorites are the Mrs. Miracle Christmas movies, there are two, written by Debbie Macomber. The Hallmark Murder and Mysteries channel has some good series movies, too. I like the Murder, She Baked series by Joann Fluke. I wish Hallmark would produce a series based on The Cat Who...series by Lillian Jackson Braun.
Good wholesome caring situations with out the Hollywood garbage, blood, guts, sexual deviance and murder.
If you bothered to read the op you would know that you are incorrect.
Hallmark channels are a welcome relief from the 24-hour SPECULATION on the news channels.
I hadn’t heard that Hallmark was under fire for lack of diversity and catering to Trump voters, but I’m not surprised. Their movies, while predictable, are happily free of SJW crap, Trump-bashing, and politics generally.
It’s like they figured out that there are still some normal women who are tired of having that garbage crammed down their throats 24/7. Too bad someone can’t do the same for us men - we can’t even watch sports in peace anymore.
The characters are:
Troubled
Wise
Great Guy(Usually soon-to-be new BF)
Not Great Guy(Usually soon-to-be old BF)
Best Friend
Not Real Friend
Plot Line is always : Realization
The Nine Lives of Christmas
I will have to watch that one! In our house I end up watching movies on my iPad as on TV it is sports almost 24/7 - not necessarily even sports but talking about sports!
