Rep. Nancy Pelosi is digging in amid the fight over funding for President Trump's long-promised border wall, signaling she wont accept a deal on DACA in exchange for wall money.
Congress on Thursday approved a short-term spending bill to avoid a partial government shutdown, punting the immigration debate and other issues until later in the month.
Speaking to reporters at her weekly press briefing Thursday, Pelosi (D-Calif.), the likely next House Speaker, said that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border are two different subjects.
She later said that she and most Democrats consider the wall "immoral, ineffective and expensive," adding that Trump repeatedly promised that Mexico would pay for it.

Probably too far away from the next election to be fresh on most voters minds, but the issue could continue throughout the next two years (unlikely if Trump shuts down the gov)
Well she is right. As long as dems are willing to supply ladders.
An unguarded wall does nothing.
Pelosi wants people to come in with disease and poverty and illegal? It does not make sense!
“Women and Minorities hardest hit”
It is a means to an end. VOTES.
It's immoral to ignore what American citizens want. It's immoral to disenfranchise the rights and representation of American citizens by allowing non-citizens to come here illegally. It's immoral to let non-citizens, either legal or illegal, to vote in American elections.
More projection as her words may just be self descriptive.
How about a go-fund-me for the wall?
No surprises here from Carolinafornia, home of The Big Orange County Steal.
They've had 2 years to do it, what makes you think they'll do it in 2 weeks? They've known for months that they'd potentially lose the House. There is no stomach or fight in the GOP. They are complicit in the death of the country. President Trump is the lone Lion in DC fighting with us.
Was she talking about governments war on poverty?
If illegals voted for Republicans, the wall would have been built 30 years ago.
Agree with you AM. None of them are true.
Also, since when did any of those issues stop a democrat program? Those are practically REQUIREMENTS for anything the Dems support.
The wall is not popular even among Republicans. If it was we would have passed it a long time ago.
The freedom caucus does not want DACA at any cost. They already timed that comprise and sadly, the freedom caucus would not vote for it. I wish republicans would find consensus.
What is immoral and expensive is the $150 billion in tax dollars spent on illegal aliens.
Nobody to remind Skeltor re: “drill, baby, drill” and her “I’ll take 25yrs to see....” (IE: $$ and ‘ineffective’, plus catering to the enviro-NAZIs vs. ‘immoral’). Last I heard, the U.S. is now a big EXPORTER...all w/o the “aid/assistance” of govt
>>If the GOP had a spine (and they do not), they would fully fund the wall before January.<<
Without that wall, this country will become a third-world sh*thole like California, crime will reach levels approaching that of Central America, and for that we have to thank all those morons who voted for Democrats in the midterms and the RINOs who are totally gutless. As the President like to say, it’s a disgrace to our once-great Constitutional Republic.
When we make the Mexicans pay for the wall it will have cost Americans nothing.
Of course she won't fund the wall.
