The Westford Select Board says they cannot remove the sculpture as it is considered public art. WCAX-TV, 9:50 AM
WESTFORD, Vt. (AP) A man says he built a massive sculpture of a middle finger off a Vermont highway to show the local government how he really feels.
Ted Pelkey tells WCAX-TV he spent $4,000 on the sculpture near Route 128 in Westford.
....
He says hes been in a long-running dispute with town officials over whether he can develop his property and move his truck repair and recycling business there.

Put that inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and he can probably sell it to some dumba$$ for $40 Million.
People forget that VT WAS a very conservative state until all the hippies moved up there in the 1960s and 1970s.
It is full of NYC transplants. Talk to any bed and breakfast owner in VT and you will discover that the once worked on Wall Street, made a bunch of money and now the make pancakes.
The only conservative part left in VT is the NW Kingdom up on the Quebec border. With the exception of Jay Peak it does not get a lot of tourists like the middle and southern part of the state. It is full of dairy farms. Up until recently there were more cows in VT than people. Many of the dairy farms have signs on them that say TAKE BACK VERMONT. However, they are out voted by the liberals in the cities/college towns.
NO WAY!!!
If the commiedemonratscumbagleftists are BURNING THE FLAG OF My/Our AMERICA and URINATING ON OR PLACING A CROSS IN A JAR OF IT AND CLAIMING IT TO BE Art then so is this Guys Finger Salute to Rediculous politicalscumbags !!!
Inexpensive art is proof of white privilige. < ^ . ^ >
wow, nice catch
True story.
Once on December 25th it snowed in the Metroplex, my back yard in particular. Now, snow on Christmas isn’t all that unusual is some parts but in North Texas it is.
So over at Hannity I posted that we were having a white Christmas ... to which one of the Left Wingers on the forum demanded to know what I’d meant by that.
I was like, dude, it’s Christmas and it snowed in North Texas.
His response was something like “my bad”.and he was quite embarrassed.
My wife and I drove up to St. Johnsbury a couple of years ago, and we like to take the rural roads...I saw an old barn, gray with age, somewhat falling down, with the faded, painted words “TAKE BACK VERMONT” and it filled me with sadness.
I love old barns, even ones that appear to be collapsing, and for much the same reason I love an old person who is in a bit of disrepair but still full of opinions...they have lived a full life, seen a lot...but...that barn was like a silenced voice to me.
LOL, I know a Freeper up in the Northeast Kingdom I am to visit one of these days, but about 20 miles from that conservative, is my sister who is pretty far left...
Your points are all true, and it is one of the reasons people who care support the electoral college...it is a direct impediment to the tyranny of a focused majority (those in the large population centers, which are almost always leftist)
Hahahahahahaha! Having a “White” Christmas indeed!
We can only shake our heads at people who exist solely to spot some kind of class/racial/social/ethic slur, and EVERYTHING is run through that filter for them.
What a sad existence.
Not so fast.
Back when Dick Nixon was running for pres. his running mate at the time Spiro Agnew was in Saint Petersberg, Florida for a political ralley.
Some guy in the crowd flipped ole Spiro off and Spiro had his secret service agents and local police arrest the protester.
Guy appealed the case all the way to the Supremes and the Supremes ruled it was simply a case of this guy freely expressing his opinion.
Obscenity as art is recognized as protected under the First Amendment thanks to decisions on things like the Piss Christ work. There’s nothing they can do except maybe try to come up with a weird zoning law change - and even then, per the Supreme Court, they have a long and expensive road filled with decades in court if they want to go that way.
That’s one fancy urinal.
I’m a masshole would love to move to NH, like my neighbor did. And would vote very conservative up there.
“They’re Number One in the Nation!”
and choking property taxes
I understand that Vermont still has Constitutional Carry.
I never saw Larry, Daryl and Daryl carrying though.
They also have one of the lowest Crime Rates and one of the lowest Minority Populations in the Country. I’m sure one statistic has absolutely nothing to do with the other.
Back in the early 2000’s a guy around here had two Bumper Stickers on the back of his beat up Honda that said “FU@K BUSH”.
(In my day, the first Cop that saw that would have had a “conversation” with the guy)
Saw him driving around all the time.
I’m sure all the Soccer Moms with a Van full of Kids appreciated pulling up behind the Jerk at a Stoplight.
Nowadays I get flipped off by Soccer Moms because I have “TRUMP 45” Vanity Plates on my Car.
The times they are a changing...
I like his style.
Whenever I see some weird sculpture/art, I think of this (Communist goals 1963):
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.
25 years ago we had a farmer in our area hang the entire county commission in effigy from a billboard on his property.
Where is there a very conservative state anymore? North Dakota, I guess, with governorship, both senators and the congressman with R's after their names, also both branches of the state legislature, and the attorney general...
It never would have stayed so conservative without the oil boom in the west.
I see that Idaho also has Republicans in Washington, the governor's mansion and completely controls the state house.
Large parts of Idaho are still great places to live.
