Yeah. Right.
So they will not be paying their interns - the taxpayer will.
Interns, for years, were supposed to be recent graduates of college, on a short duration job-training situation. If you go back a decade or two....they rarely stayed more than six months, and any money paid....was mostly for meals and incidentals.
Schumer's CYA'ing....backtracking like crazy..... now says "no pay for interns" was posted in error.
I worked for two engineering companies and we’d hire students at minimal, but good amounts for part time workers. For the most part they didn’t contribute anything in value to compensate for what they were paid. However, it was like an extended job interview. We would make offers to the most promising ones when they graduated. In any case, as a manager I’d try to stop by about once a week and talk to them about their experiences, what was important to us employers, and generally try to guide them in what we were looking for.
I can’t imagine asking a student, or anyone else, to work for free. Even if they contributed little.
On another scale, I would be very uncomfortable with a female intern today due to the #metoo movement. As it is, I never had an employee in my office with the door shut. Due to #metoo I think women in industry have been set back twenty years. It’s a shame.
Govment po zitions whats not to like. Long term and permnent.
Go there to find what fell out the bottom of the private sector sieve
While I never mentioned it at the time, I passed on hiring young women who were qualified for the job, but super beautiful, as I knew they would be a distraction to the work focus in the office.
Democrats have a very long history of support for “unpaid labor”. But the 13th Amendment was supposed to end that. Guess Chuckie didn’t get the memo.

I was an employer in the construction business for many years. I always avoided hiring anyone in a protected class for that very reason. Why invite the trouble?
I kinda like the gal. She's got spunk.
Hey Chuck: We believed you the first time!
My exact thought.
Why do the women interns need to be paid if they get to have sex with the boss?
Slave labor Schoomer!
“Due to #metoo I think women in industry have been set back twenty years. Its a shame.”
Tammy Bruce said something similar last night on the Tucker Carlson Show.
“Why do the women interns need to be paid if they get to have sex with the boss?”
In my experience (self included) the boss is one old, ugly MF.
As much as the tard arse Dems believe in giving ‘free’ sh*t, Schumer is lying.....
“I’m sorry... that I got caught”
