We have a rotund shih tzu. She LOVES to eat. (And lives to eat). I recently read that wet dog food is better if you’re trying to get their weight down, because of the water content. She vacuums up her food. She’s a doll.

Here are other sites, don’t know much about them-

I use Victor maintenance Pro, $36.00 for 40 pounds at a feed store. Diamond is another of my favorite brands, I believe that they are the makers of Costco/ Kirkland.

I’d be curious to know if dogs get any vitamin D from the sun being covered in fur.

Maxie is 13 years old..last January he had 20 teeth removed(His previous owner never took him to get a teeth cleaning) so he had a lot of rotten teeth which could not be saved which is why he is on wet food..doesnt stop him from eating anything though LOL. He has neck, back, and hip issues(As most shih tzu’s do) in February he had a scary event, his neck got messed up I guess from jumping off the sofa too much, was so worried about him, he took prednisone for a week and he got all better but the Vet said no more jumping, and to be put on a doggy diet since he was a little overweight, now he’s around 12 pounds..such a good pup..only have him left since we lost Nemo last year(Pomeranian, we guess 15-16 years old..had trachea collapses issues which eventually turned into heart failure/pulmonary hypertension) he lived 6 months with that..we all miss Nemo everyday, even Maxie still does they were very close

Dogfoodadvisor disagrees.

When lots of other k sources are available, why use a CHINA import?

Cheap and profit margins, that’s why.

Not for my dogs, no way.

NO Chinese ingredients, ever.

DogfoodAdvisor subscribes to the naturalistic fallacy in their reviews.

But the bottom line is that synthetic K3 is more shelf stable than naturally derived K1 and K2. What good is “natural” if it breaks down before being consumed?

I’m not afraid of chemicals and natural isn’t better. Last time I checked, nature was trying to kill me.

Chicomm dog food products. Nope.

The local grocery in my area has a 10’ section of rawhide and chew treats. Every one of them was made in China.

Amen.

My local feed store offers USA rawhide rolls that are pricey but huge, thick and tightly rolled.

$10 buys even the Dobes a week or two of happy chewing.

If you’re interested.

The D is created when sunlight hits their fur. It is in the oil on their fur, and gets into their system when they lick/groom themselves.

“LOL. It would take my 20 pounds of rat terror a year to eat one of those”

Not sure my 45 pound mutt (Swiss Shepard / Chow / Spanial) would ever finish it.
Leather chews and hard biscuits get picked up and deposited in various corners of the
house daily, or are hidden in sofa couches. I guess she doesn’t care for them much but goes.back to wolf instinct to hoard for a rainy day.
