We lost a subtle but easy engagement by allowing the MSM, unquestionably at the urging of America's left, to adopt for the Dem-turned socialist states a color with which almost everyone is comfortable; as in, "deep blue waters", "blue eyes", "the wild blue yonder", etc.
At the same time, it decided the color red - historically used as a term of political identity by politicians and communists themselves - would henceforth describe the R-controlled states. The R states, of course, undeniably contain the overwhelmingly larger portion of conservatives and others who support the U.S. Constitution.
Some view it a minor point, but it continues as a nagging irritant for me because it is one of the ways the Left intentionally confuses political terms to softly seduce our younger, newer-on-the-scene voters.
I remember when they used blue for Republicans and red for Democrats on election night maps. The change always bothered me since it was clearly an effort by the MSM to distance the Democrats from any insinuation that they had Marxist leanings.
