~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas Naval Air Station Corpus Christi is a United States Navy naval air base located six miles (10 km) southeast of the central business district of Corpus Christi, in Nueces County, Texas. Home to Chief of Naval Air Training, Training Air Wing FOUR, the Corpus Christi Army Depot and other tenants. NAS Corpus Christi has supported pilot training and operations since 1941. Today, the Naval Aviator training program at NAS Corpus Christ is much longer, approximately 18 months, due to the increased complexity of today's aircraft. Currently, Training Air Wing FOUR produces approximately 400 newly qualified aviators each year via the "Maritime Pipeline" for shore-based U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard fixed-wing jet and turboprop aircraft, as well as a limited number of NATO/Allied/Coalition military pilots for similar aircraft. In addition to U.S. Navy Student Naval Aviators, VT-31 and VT-35 also train Student Naval Aviators from the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard. The station employs officer, enlisted and civilian personnel serving in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the military services of numerous NATO/Allied/Coalition partner nations. NAS Corpus Christi is also home to the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD), the largest helicopter repair facility in the world (and an unusual arrangement of an Army installation located on a Naval facility). The commanding officer is currently Colonel Gail E. Atkins who took command of the depot on 20 July 2018. Learn More About Naval Air Station Corpus Christi HERE!! FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT~Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

I hope y’all didn’t have too large a mess at work to clean up this morning. Did the computers all survive?

Hey, there, radu!
I think it’s FL, so it probably is. I guess it could be Corpus Christi, too. There are lots of palm trees down there.
I’m guessing that your weather was pretty chilly today. I checked DH and it looked cold and blustery there. Hope you finally got some sunshine to cheer you up.
It was cooler here today, too. 42 right now. I think it’s supposed to freeze tonight or close to it, so all the “fragile” plants are in the garage. And my care is relegated to the driveway. sigh

Hiya radu!
Son's been over for dinner tonight and doing homework and hanging out. He just left.
You getting winter weather too?
We're suppose to really start getting cold days and colder nights, but nothing different than the usual.
I just bought another winter coat to get ready for it. No snow yet thankfully.

It looks like Hawaii to me but wherever it is, it looks mighty nice. Better than here, that’s for sure. LOL
Yes, it’s a bit brisk here and will be even colder the rest of the week.
Normal highs are around 60 but we’ll be in the low 40s with lows in the 20s and a few 30s. You might see some snow at DH but it isn’t supposed to get this far. We’ll see.

Sounds like you’ve had a nice evening!
Yes, we’re getting another taste of winter here, dadgummit. Just not ready for cold weather even though it’s inevitable. LOL! We won’t be as cold as you will but still about 20 degrees below normal and will last at least a week.
I was glad I didn’t need to go anywhere today but tomorrow and Wed. will be a different story. *sigh*

Yikes! That’s way colder than I’m sure you are happy about. Better get an extra pair of sox on! And lots of kitties to snuggle with. They’re better than heating pads. :) I’ll watch for snow at DH.
Jackson is finally getting its white winter look. I’m sure my kids are happy about that.

You KNOW I’m not happy about it. LOL! It was windy today and that made it worse. I was glad I didn’t have to go anywhere. I do have to get out the next two days and hope the wind dies down by then.
They way they were talking on the weather report, we might see a little snow at DH tomorrow.
Jackson has been pretty and white for several days now. I’ve pulled up the Dreamcatcher cam a few times to watch people skiing but it always makes me want to put a coat on. LOL! Looks so cold!
It won’t be long before they get out to spray water on the ground at the park in town for ice skaters to enjoy.

I've been watching to see if there was enough snow on the ground to get the skating area ready. It was 9 degrees there this morning. THAT made me shiver!
Did you see that i had found a cam of the skating arena near Snow King? I told my son he needs to get the girls some ice skates.
Darn! Sorry you have to get out tomorrow. With any luck the wind will have died down and it won't add to the chill in the air.
Went to let Peaches in this morning and found him on the roof. He wanted me to get him down, but I'm too short and too scared of ladders, so I told him he got up there, he can get down. So he did. LOL!

Good evening, radu...very little mess at all. Monitors and CPUs falling over happened with the first biggie. I stood them all up and they all stayed up through the second and the whole weekend.
The IT guy said only 1 monitor got broken, and there are LOTS of them.
Just finished up a little homework and almost done with my thread. Then I’m off to my lounger and a book and a little wind down time...an unusual happening.
AJ had the light up when I got home, and it works! LOL!! He also said that everything inside and out looks fine.
Hope you are staying warm.

Very good! It looked like it was starting to fizzle out and it sounds like that turned out to be the case.
They say we could get some snow sometime later in the week but I don’t know if it’ll hit us or stay north of us. It’s going to be cold, snow or not.

They don’t usually ice up the park until right around Christmas - - maybe between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. They put the lights up in the trees early though.
No way I could live up there with the temps getting that cold so early and staying cold. I wouldn’t go ANYwhere! LOL
Great shots of Peaches. He does have that look on his face, in the first pic, like he’s saying, “Well? Ya gonna get me down or what?” hee!
