The Associated Press on Friday retracted its call for a Republican in a House race in North Carolina after the state board of elections delayed certifying the results due to concerns of voter fraud.
Democrat Dan McCready conceded the election to Republican Mark Harris earlier this month and said he would not request a recount.
Unofficial results show Harris with a 905-vote lead out of nearly 283,000 votes counted.
The North Carolina board of elections cited “claims of irregularities and fraudulent activities related to absentee by-mail voting” when it said it would delay certifying the results. The body voted 7-2 on Friday to hold a hearing into the concerns.
The North Carolina Democratic Party released a statement praising the vote, applauding “the board’s bipartisan decision to delay certification and fully investigate the concerning allegations.”
Officials were particularly alarmed over uncommonly high numbers of absentee ballots submitted in Bladen County, according to The Washington Post.
“It’s been out there. We were fully aware of it. There are some particularly unsavory people, particularly out in Bladen County, and I didn’t have anything to do with them,” Harris said Thursday in an interview with Spectrum News.
The real question is how many recounts where the Republican was behind before the recount did the Republican win? I think that the answer is zero, at least in recent years.
A unique Federal voting number would do the trick. This would be a number associated with voting that could be entered into a national, searchable data base. It should say where the ballot was cast, by what method but not who the person voted for.
The AP “call” is really about as relevant to the election as a cow fart.
I’m one of the 905. I’m very glad Harris won. I didn’t agree with him about everything but McReady was trying to weasel - not giving straight answers about where he stood on several issues. Also the Charlotte Observer endorsed him saying he would vote for “common sense gun safety regulation”. Firstly, anything the Charlotte Observer is for I’m against and anything they’re against, I’m for. Secondly, using the code words to describe a gun grabber alone would be enough to get me to vote against someone.
Ding! Ya done broke the code.
They claim there’s no fraud. When I ask them how they know this because without voter ID we have no way of knowing. Their answer is to have a giant meltdown. I saw it with some of my own lefty relatives over Thanksgiving.
This will lead right back to the democrats. And the democrats committed this fraud all over the country. And it is only one type of fraud. They used the whole play book for the 2018 elections.
They are about to pull a fast one in Georgia runoff election I’m afraid... just decided to count absentee ballots that are received up to two days past the voting day. And the freaking republicans agreed to this! So now, they can see exactly how many votes to manufacture to get the Democrat elected.
And one of the positions is for Secretary of State, so it’s a very big deal.
So you do not want people like myself and my wife, who work overseas's, to vote.

If you really wanted to vote, you and your wife would hop onto the nearest flight and come home and vote.
Are they still going door to door “harvesting” votes like they do in California?

In California, anyone can request an absentee ballot (no reason needed). Those ballots are valid if postmarked before midnight on election day and received by the following Friday. It takes a long time to count those mail ballots because each is cross-checked to make sure the same voter didn't also vote in person on election day.
The people who vote at the polls on election day tend to skew older and more conservative than the people who mail in their ballots, and younger voters are the most likely to mail their ballots at the last minute.
All CITIZENS have the right to vote. Just because we have frauds and cheaters does not mean you cannot come up with a controlled way to have honest mail in voting. It is setting up the appropriate gates to stop fraud. Of course Democrats want to remove the gates, they cheat.
Unfortunately it seems that we need federal control, this is because places like California and many Democrat controlled counties have corrupted the system. But federally, if even if Democrats do not gain control of the executive, they have shown themselves experts at corrupting bureaucracies. Think Broward County, King County, or California on a national level. And if they do gain the WH...
The battle is truth verses lie, the honest vs. the dishonest, the moral vs. the immoral. Liers will lie, as long as they are allowed to get away with it without repercussion.
Say what you will about the Democrats. They truly understand and live by the law of the jungle.
They're winning the long game because they ONLY recognize that one law: Kill Or Be Killed.
· While we dutifully cast our solitary ballots, they manufacture what they need by the truckload.
· While we attempt to address illegal immigration through the law, the courts, and standard law enforcement practices, they pry open the gates to bring in millions of alien invaders.
· They've spent decades taking over every institution of power in this country, while we've quietly kept to ourselves, tacitly allowing them to parasitically feed on our collective body.
There's a war going on, but only one side is fighting.
Right. The KKKratzis don't have any Jeff Flakes, Juan McCains, Mitt Romneys or Lisa Murkowskis...
