Thanks! A car smack dab in the bullseye, but upright.
You’ve had a lot of earthquakes in OK lately too.
yep
Anchorage Airport closed
That was the video. I couldn’t believe how long the quake lasted.
How much is your deductible?
It’s like 5% of value.

Prayers for Sarah and everyone there. Seems to me that this has happened to her several times before.

May the Lord bless them.
There’s a cold winter coming.
5.56mm
That answers my question on another thread. It’s dark in Alaska right now. Sunny in L.A.
23 degrees F right now.
The strongest EQ I’ve ever neen was a 5.4. I was sitting in my chair in tje living room on the 2nd floor. A balcony ran down tje entire length of tje building. I watched my doorway raise up nearly a foot, and the balcony groaned. It hit so suddenly there really wasn’t any time to react. Since I was already sitting, I just stayed put. And enjoyed the ride! I kid you not, I thought it was fun!
My poor dog was freaked out though.
The building ended up with several cracks, balcony needed to be retightened. My kitchen zink counter pilled 1/4 inch from the wall as did the bathroom vanity.
When you haven’t grown up with earthquakes, you don’t have the trained in reactions, so unless there are pieces of ceiling falling, staying in place seems the best thing to do. Especially if one doesn’t have good balance.
We ended up having several eq’s in that particular building location, all of them much smaller, just ratteled the dishes a little.
I don’t at all mind those mild ones. It’s yee-hhaww time for me. In the back of your mind though...how much stronger is this going to get before it quits?
I am however, terrified of tornados.
67 degrees here. BBRRRRRRRRR ...
So glad I don’t live in CA anymore. I lived through the Northridge quake and in my neighborhood, it was MUCH worse than the video. 200 lb pieces of furniture being thrown around the room airborne.
Lots of broken dishes at her parents house. Can’t see any major damage from the short version on her twitter account.
Prayers for all in Alaska and their loved ones...
That’s Swim Suit Weather up here on The Frozen Tundra, LOL!
