Donald Trump Jr.'s testimony to Congress about his family's real estate negotiations with powerful Russians does not comport with the new version laid out by Donald Trump's ex-attorney Michael Cohen, official transcripts show.
Trump Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee in September 2017 that although there had been negotiations surrounding a prospective Trump Tower in Moscow, they concluded without result "at the end" of 2014.
"But not in 2015 or 2016?" Trump Jr. was asked.
"Certainly not '16," he said. "There was never a definitive end to it. It just died of deal fatigue."
Trump's account contrasts with the new version of events given by Cohen on Thursday in a guilty plea in federal court. In that new version, Cohen says the discussions with at least one Russian government official and others in Moscow continued through June 2016, well into Trump's presidential campaign.
Cohen initially told Congress he reached out to a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin and didn't hear back. On Thursday, his guilty plea acknowledged that he had heard back and that other negotiations with other Russians went forward.

Which is the point — it appears that the only person who lied about this was Cohen. Jr. testified that the dealmaking didn’t end, it just petered out, by June 2016, which is what Cohen lied about before and is now telling the truth about.
And Trump’s lawyers are agreeing with that, as per this linked article.
Still not sure how this signals that Mueller has something. It appears he HOPED he had something, but then Cohen decided instead to plead guilty to lying about this thing. You don’t take a lying plea deal if you want to use the witness later; a witness whose crime was lying under oath is not a very good witness.
The first time mulehead goes after Don Jr. or his sister, is the day President Donald John Trump fires the whole crew of the 20 borax mule team.

His goal is indictments all round for anyone associated with POTUS. He is not concerned whether he ever gets a conviction. It’s the political impact he is after.

Trump Jr was referring to the Agalarov family deal, not the one with Cohen. NPR is lying straight out.

Yep, I said that the other day. They basically tortured the guy with SEVENTY hours of interrogations and you can imagine what kind of crap they threatened him with “Give us something or you will rot in prison for the next 40 years” and since Trump never colluded with the Russians the best he could come up with to save his ass is to lie about lying.

It’s coming, I’m sure. If the deal was ongoing from the 1980s, but nothing ever came of it. Then they’re grasping at straws, but they want that search warrant.
It is only allowed to lie if it is required of you to lower your sentence.
And if the new lies conflict with those Mueller et al wants to destroy, it's the new lies that will be used.
Sure after the deal died there may have been more back and forth, that's normal if the party trying to make a business deal with the Trump org doesn't want the deal to die.
Cohen is not answering straight, he is composing.
If he has grandkids he has to go along with Mueller.

If done properly, this headline would read “Cohen’s [Newly composed] Account Of Russian Talks Conflicts With Trump Jr.’s 2017 Testimony”
I saw a banner on Fox News that said “Border patrol clashes with migrants”
The banner should have said, if FN wanted to be accurate:
“Invading angry mob rushes and attacks Border Patrol while trying to force their way into the USA” [I know too long for a banner better as a roll at the bottom of the screen]
They didn’t go up to the “migrants” (read violent would be invaders of the USA) and “clash” with them.
The hopeful interloping hordes clashed with the Border Patrol by approaching and trying to illegally push their way over the border.
And in the process threw rocks and other objects at the authorities legally protecting our country from invaders.
Rocks can kill and should be meant with force when thrown at the BP
Palestine rock etc throwers were shot when doing this in Israel and at their border.
Trump Jr. denied NPR’s claim.
NPR withdrew (or re-wrote) the story, but only after the original report sat on the news wires for six more hours.
