Alcohol is MUCH MORE a gateway drug than weed
Does it really matter when they are both gateway drugs?
Re-look at the meaning of “gateway” in the clinical analysis.
Booze is along for the ride with the “gateway” psychoactive THC component of pot— the receptors for booze are NOT the same ones that have to be satisfied in the brain and in the peripheral areas of a devotee.
Lessens inhibitions, booze does— and thus lessens any self discipline to NOT continue to “toke up”. Booze is merely a fellow traveler in this analysis. And, booze on it’s on is incredibly destructive to Society in general— but Carry Nation and puritanical legal stops would never prevent something that people can MAKE on their own.
Even the American Indians reserved tobacco for religious ceremony— but thanks to our Colonial rulers— the cash demand for tobacco in UK and Europe converted a simple religious plant into a hugely addictive and destructive... industry. Brilliant.
And alcohol is dangerous, a poison in fact.

I DON’T agree.
Alcohol is MUCH MORE a gateway drug than weed.
Theyre different, with different physiological affects/triggers. Some get addicted to booze. The great majority do not.
Booze, to me, is gateway in that while on ot, inhibitions are reduced, and poor decisions often follow: Hold my beer and watch this!
Oh, lets go to your place. or Lemme try some of that chit.
Pot, otoh, generally lessens IQ. Been observing that in many others for 45 years, noted it in myself during college studying.

It is? Gateway to what then? Many of the pot smokers I have run into in my life also used other drugs. Yet almost everyone I know has a drink now and then and many have never used other drugs. I know that’s anecdotal, but that seems to be pretty universal.
I have a drink every once in a while, but I have never smoked pot of used any other illegal drug.
May want to rethink that more fat people use weed than alcohol and weed user have a higher lung cancer rate.
