Not evidence. Only registration would hold up legally.
Personally, I don’t see any functional difference between a bump stock and an unregistered drop in auto sear. They both are modifications to a firearm that allow full auto fire. As a side note, at least when the ATF determined that the streetsweeper shotgun was a destructive device, you could still possess one if you registered it as a DD. Also the normal NFA $200 registration (tax) fee was not required.
Bad move by Trump, but Hillary would have done this in her first week as POTUS.

Bump stocks are just an inefficient way to pretend to have a select fire weapon, and we should still be able to own real select fire weapons without all the bureaucracy and expense. Bump stocks are a poor substitute. I’m old enough to remember being able to order guns by mailorder. But I agree this is a bad precedent. This is probably just a trial balloon to see what the reaction will be. If you don’t like it, let the WH and your congresscritters know.

These were not tracked as to who bought them. They have no way to know who owns one, unless on-line and local retailers give up purchase information where credit/debit cards were used. Those who paid cash cannot be tracked.
Nope. I have an acquaintance who has one, and he paid cash. So no credit/debit card or on-line purchase data to show up anywhere.

Have you ever read the law? What part of it defines a bump stock? That’s pretty important to knowing what you’re talking about.
I don’t use drugs but i agree with you. Too much court time wasted on pot. If you have done your time why can’t a felon released vote. And you can’t get a job even as a barber as it requires a license.
PC Principle prohibits asking the question: What is WRONG with these people?" And we end up with stupid regulations like this.
