Here's a couple of details:

The batteries used in the electric cars were $1000/kwh in 2010 but have fallen to $200/kwh and will continue to fall so that by 2035 20% of the cars worldwide(led by china) will be electric.

The price of offshore wind turbines have been falling and falling to the point that the Atlantic states are now planning to install. The European companies who are experienced at this have moved into the US to do the work.

And the batteries for the cars are so toxic that most of the plants that produce them are toxic wastelands. They are cheaper because they are often subsidized. They are destructive to the environment. It is pretty bad.

Liquid Salt Fluoride Reactors is where we should be going. Solar and wind do not make economic sense nor are they dependable enought to produce energy without redundant gas/coal/oil backup generation.

How many more terawatts will be needed to power these cars?

Are the charge times dropping any?

Will AAA wreckers bring a big capacitor to re-charge a drained out electric car?
