Not a Single Migrant Climbed Over the New Border Wall
CNS News ^ | November 27, 2018 | Susan Jones

On Sunday, a crush of foreigners from Central America literally tore a hole in a scrap-metal border wall near San Diego in their attempt to cross illegally into the United States... I'd (Rodney Scott, chief of the San Diego Border Patrol sector) like to point out that not a single migrant climbed over the new border wall. We have about eight miles of border wall completed here in San Diego -- unfortunately, that's not complete... it's those weak areas where we have not upgraded the infrastructure that the migrants were able to breach."

Walls work.

The new 18 foot bollard barrier being installed in San Diego can hold back huge mobs. Bollards can not be pushed over or torn apart by hand, no matter how many people are pushing and pulling on it.

President Trump has already received the funding to install two layers of such strong new barrier in San Diego, and eight of the fourteen miles of the first layer are already done. In a few months, when the other six miles are finished, mobs will need tall ladders and ropes to cross the first barrier - which will greatly slow them down, and weed out the women and children.

After this first new bollard barrier is complete in San Diego, the contractor will start constructing the second run of strong barrier behind the first, which should also be finished next year. San Diego will be significantly hardened against such mob rush attacks in the future.

I have to admit that is good news.

What I really don’t like about it is that it doesn’t seem permanent enough in that some jerk Democrat president could just come along and order it all taken down at some point way too easily.

I'd put the Big Red One in the field as the wall and tell Congress these troops will stay in the field until they get off their beer-soaked asses and pass a bill that fully funds the wall.

Then I would remind Americans Congress is keeping an infantry division in the field because of their inaction.

One of the biggest advantages of Trump’s new barrier, is that it is the hardest thing for a future Left-wingnut President to turn off. It would cost a lot to remove, and be glaringly obvious sabotage. It would be politically difficult.

Changing Border Patrol practices, or Immigration processing policies can be done under the radar, but they would need appropriated money and contracting delays to demolish large steel and concrete structures. They could more easily turn off the lights and cameras, and tell the Border Patrol to pull everyone back for transgender awareness training.

The bollards are likely to stand for two or three generations, once they go in.

I am appreciative of their current effectiveness, certainly, but I would feel much better if it was just a massive construct that costs money and time to erect.

8th Wonder of the World type of massive would be fine with me!

Didn’t the San Diego City Council vote to blacklist any contractor who bid on the wall?

I think the “old barrier” is actually on the Mexican side. That’s why it’s such a piece of sh!t.

“Mr. President, tear down that Wall.”

I can hear it now. Maybe Occasional Cortex will be the one who channels Ronald Reagan.

“Didn’t the San Diego City Council vote to blacklist any contractor who bid on the wall?”

The San Diego City Council can blacklist until they are blue in the face.

Texas-based construction corporation SLSCO was awarded the $147 million contract for the San Diego wall project. They have been setting sturdy tall steel bollards (filled with concrete and rebar) into heavy concrete footings at least two feet thick and six feet deep (heavily reinforced with rebar) since June.

Earlier this month, SLSCO got two more contracts for massive levee barrier system in the Rio Grande Valley of Southern Texas. Those segments are scheduled to break ground in February - with all the bells and whistles.

“I think the “old barrier” is actually on the Mexican side. That’s why it’s such a piece of sh!t.”

It is just a few feet on US territory, but it is the first barrier that Mexicans encounter. It was made with left over scrap metal (surplus aircraft landing mats from the Vietnam War). It is called the secondary barrier, designed to give some standoff distance (enforcement zone) from the primary barrier, which is the main fence.

Due to the terrain though, the barriers are not consistent along the full length from the Ocean to the Mountain. There are weak spots where the “secondary” barrier is really the main barrier. The new construction will button that up, and be a lot tougher.

No US commander will order the use of stahl force on unarmed civilians.

So how long to construct 8 whole miles? Did they hire the NC infrastrucure pros who spent almost 10 years working on the same stretch of highway?
