There are reports of an active shooter situation at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

I laughed when I moved here and read that verse.

So the lib congressman has been released form his shelter in place and tweeted that he’s OK. I expect no response to my tweet.

I’ve gotten a couple from libs upbraiding me for wanting to fight back. One said it’ was obvious I never took active shooter training. I agreed. I prefer active shoot back training

That was never sung; that is a line from a poem about the anti - Union riots in Baltimore in 1861. Written in New Orleans, I believe, although by a former Maryland resident. The author was a fervent Secessionist, and apparently believed the riots represented a popular uprising which would bring the state into the Confederacy. He was wrong. None the less, enough of the elite Democrat leadership in the post war Maryland government had been Secesh that the state adopted a version of the poem, set to the tune of the German Christmas song “O Tannenbaum”, as its Official State Song.
