I own a '98 Chevy Silverado that I bought new for my business in August of that year. During its twelve years in daily service we replaced the fuel pump twice, and changed out an upper coolant hose once.
Other than the usual wear and tear items like tires, plugs, and batteries, we did no other repairs.
In the eight years since it became an all purpose family vehicle, I've had the front suspension redone, and a new engine installed at 225,000 miles.
I figure I more than got my money's worth out of it.
There ya go!
