How I’d Handle The Caravan

It should tell us something about her home country that a mother is willing to travel 2,000 miles with her 4-month old son to come here. Should tell us something about our country that we only respond to this desperate need once she is at our border. So far, in this administration, that response has included taking kids from their parents, locking them up in cages, and now tear gassing them at the border.

People are leaving violent countries where they fear for their lives. Without money, they are subsisting on hope for their kids, for themselves, that they can get to safety. After being denied the ability to lawfully petition for asylum for the last 10 days, they are desperate.

We choose how to respond to this challenge.

Why is there no one from even Fox News or some other conservative site asking the likes of the brainiact leftists who they think are funding this invasion? There is proof this isn’t an organic exodus from Honduras and Guatemala. Get them on record. Why is no one asking them? I get why CNN MSNBC and the likes of the fake propaganda networks, why they’re not asking them, but what about the conservative outlets?

He wants democrat voters - people comfortable with breaking the law and giving our country the finger... easier to teach these lowlifes the ways of voter fraud.

They left a violent country and bring their culture with them so we now get to live with them in their displaced hellhole.

Move ‘em into Ben Sasse’s neighborhood. Let the boyscout useful idiot do the work of assimilation.

You could but not necessary..
A 100 foot NO ZONE located on the Mexican side would allow us to patrol and stop anyone before they even reach the border.
Thereby ending much of the nonsence of reaching American soil.

If he REALLY cared he’d be down there leading them over the border. Trump would be screwed because he could never send troops or tear gas against a major US polical figger like Robert O’Rourke (or Obama, Hillary, Biden, et al).

They obviously don’t really care about getting this caravan into the US, they just like it as an issue to run on and make noise about.

there are over 7 billion people on this planet.

That is the best argument. When ever I discuss this issue with liberals I simply ask one question.

"How many is to many?"

A thousand, teen thousand, 100 thousand, a million, 10 million?

When they can't answer the question because there is no logical answer. I immediately go into my next line of questioning.

"Aren't you worried about urban sprawl, over population, traffic congestion, CO2 emissions, growing poverty, the explosion of homeless, inner city pollution, the wage gap, inadequate social services, inner city poverty, sustainable water supplies, and sustainable medical services?

If you don't really care about any of these things then you should continue to support the caravan.

Very good points! My first argument is to keep any more Muslim terrorists out, Obama imported far far too many already ( we need to repatriate them and their front groups and enablers all now!!) . My second argument is to keep serious criminals and drug gangs, MS13 etc out. My third argument is to have a sovereign country we need to at least know who’s coming in, and with what——- these are so obvious they don’t require much discussion - I just point them out and most leftists STFU

Maybe we ought to start training some of them up to take their countries back from the idiot politicians that are running them into the ground?

I’ll tell you how to respond. With violence, so much so that they think their homeland is paradise:

I like your style.

Should tell us something about our country that we only respond to this desperate need once she is at our border.
There are seven billion people on this earth, and they fit two overlapping categories - those who wish they were in America, and those who hate America. More than half in the former category, more than half in the latter category.

There is no accomodating them all, or even a significant fraction of them.

The only possible “accommodation” would be for everyone to recognize that it is not true that “only the US has the Constitution." That’s absurd; the Constitution is in the public domain and everyone “has” it. What most people don’t have is neighbors - and especially governments - which live by the Constitution.

And just to show how significant a barrier that is to cross, consider two words: "Puerto Rico.” Theoretically they have the Constitution but big government is such an ingrained mindset there that it doesn’t much matter. If it did, PR would have an actual electric grid - and other infrastructure - adequate to the local climate. As a Wall Street Journal columnist, Bret Stevens claimed (I paraphrase, obviously) that conservatives believe that the Constitution is so perfect that it doesn’t need conserving.

Well, Puerto Rico is what you get when it isn’t conserved. Is Honduras worse? Probably. Plenty of places are - and if Puerto Rico is what it is, precisely what do we do for Honduras??? And how???

Mr. O’Rourke wants to assure that we don’t have neighbors - and ultimately governments - who live by the Constitution. Thanks a lot, Bobby . . .

If you had your wish, where would the billions who wish they were in America look to? And what good would it actually do for those who wish us ill? They would be left as they are, or worse - and would face the reality that they never had no one to blame but themselves.

No, leftists don’t think like conservatives. Blame Plato ...
https://www.therebel.media/no_leftists_don_t_think_like...

TheRebel.media’s Megaphone blogger John Inglis writes: Liberals do not think like conservatives. You have probably noticed this. Liberals believe that human nature is essentially good, while conservatives believe that man is a flawed creature, and that we must exert great effort to be good.... The Left’s fear of ignorance explains why they tend to oppose the free exchange of ideas: Some of those ideas might be “bad” and therefore dangerous. (Whereas conservatives are usually more worried about bad actions, not thoughts.).. The Left’s obsession with criminalizing “hate speech” is an example of their fear of bad ideas.

Let me understand this...a desperate mother and her kid just decide to walk 2,000 miles to the US with nothing but the clothes on their back and are joined by thousands of others who have the same idea at the same time. They simply walk to the new promised land without food or water, crash through the borders of one or more other countries, make it across Mexico where drug lords control most of the country and often turn such refugees into drug mules or sell them as sex slaves and somehow just turn up at our border. They could have far more easily gone south into Venezuela, a socialist paradise flowing with milk and honey, but instead chose to make the periless journey north. This is the stuff of fairy tales.
