A little girl from Honduras stares into the camera, her young features contorted in anguish. Shes barefoot, dusty and clad only in a diaper and T-shirt. And shes just had to run from clouds of choking tear gas fired across the border by U.S. agents. A second photograph, which also circulated widely and rapidly on social media, shows an equally anguished woman frantically trying to drag the same child and a second toddler away from the gas as it spread.
The three were part of a much larger group, perhaps 70 or 80 people,..... pictured in a wider angle image fleeing the tear gas. Reuters photographer Kim Kyung-Hoon shot the photos, which provoked outrage and seemed at odds with President Trumps portrayal of the caravan migrants as criminals and gang members.
Trump officials said that authorities had to respond with force after hundreds of migrants rushed the border near Tijuana on Sunday, some of them throwing projectiles at Customs and Border Protection personnel.
Chaos erupted Sunday around the bustling San Ysidro border crossing, which Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said was closed to ensure public safety in response to large numbers of migrants seeking to enter the U.S. illegally.
But Democratic leaders, human rights advocates and others focused on the images of the two children in particular. Many pointed to the children left gagging from the gas attack as evidence that Trumps push against a caravan of asylum seekers from Central America had gone too far.
Shooting tear gas at children is not who we are as Americans, Tom Perez, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, tweeted. Seeking asylum is not a crime. We must be better than this.

...”The real question should be: Why is the mother dragging her girls around in diapers with no shoes on through the dirt and rocks - all for a photo op coordinated with a Reuters reporter?”...
No real caring for the welfare of the child? Narcissism?
...”The little girl bears no resemblance to the woman.”...
The wisdom of Solomon has been lost from the planet. Reasonable people hint at possibilities as you have, but to no avail in the face of a hostile, hateful media.
Simple answer “Money.”
The problem I see is a definite lack of tear gas.
There we go, thats the photo they were looking for.
All that effort, all those thousands of people, the coordination, the buses... just for that photograph.
Same as the photograph of children in cages it will be used against the United States by the heartless liberals to open the border.
It wasnt quite what they wanted.. a dead child bleeding on the ground with his mother and sister crying.... but it will do.
You cant make policy out of female emotion!
Staged photo that the disgusting media is running with.
They look a little old to be in diapers
Media at it finest lie with photos wonder why they didn’t put some fly’s on the kids.
Such disgusting people. YUCK!
Here’s what they are plotting at the end of the long Wa-Po story:
“Attempting to stop them short of the border appears to be just what Trump may be planning..... the administration is working with the incoming government of Mexico on a plan that would require asylum seekers to wait in that country while their claims moved through U.S. courts.”
[Trump] could try to invoke an exception to the law called safe third country, which permits the government to keep asylum seekers in another country, in this case Mexico, under a bilateral agreement while their claims are being considered in the United States.”
—> However, there are several catches, according to ACLU immigration attorney, Lee Gelernt.
The law says, there needs to be an assurance that individuals waiting on the Mexican side are safe, not just from the Mexican government but from gangs and others. “We believe it would be IMPOSSIBLE for the U.S. to make that assurance, he added.
My comment: They have been living on the Mexican roads and in public places, perfectly unharmed, nice and safe for 40 days. Why should they be deemed unsafe, now? There is no US travel advisory to avoid Tijuana. Thousands of Americans cross the SD/TJ border every day. If it’s safe enough for Americans, it’s good enough for them, too. The safe way would have been to apply for asylum in Central America.
(((Hey Honduran mama,))) for the safety of the little girls you posed for the Reuters camera guy:
“Put the free shoes back on the girls feet before they are cut and bleeding with infections from the dirt and sewage.”
“Diapers are $$ and smelly, tell their real mother to potty-train these 4 & 5 year olds as a matter of decency & hygiene.”
“Put some pants on the girls to provide modesty and protection from the wondering eyes of thousands of men dominating your horde.”
“Most importantly, How much did WaPo or Reuters pay you to drag the girls around for the camera?”
Why are the Dems so quiet?? They really think they'll flip Texas with an invasion??
And notice Mom's Disney shirt.

"Honduras has terrible levels of market regulation, such as price controls on food, fuel and clothing. Electricity and telephone are run by state monopolies and they have ohnerous regulations for starting a business, especially for foreign investors. They are ranked 125, out of 185 countries, for ease to do business in. They also requie government approval for foreign investment into healthcare, telecom, air travel and some other markets. They have a poor credit rating, as well, due to high deficit spending used to cover socialist programs. They had to reduce spending on these ineficient programs to improve their credit rating, which was succesful in 2017. All of this discourages foreign investment, which is a necesity to become prosperous. Who would want to start a business in a place where they are told what they can charge by the state?
In the 80s, military spending accounted for a quarter of the national budget and they were borrowing large sums of money to fund national work projects, to reduce unemployment. All it did was increase government spending and corruption, which was already bad.
Today 60% of the working population is in agriculture, but honduras has a limited availability of farmland due to its geography. Even if the state were to pay for their education, what would they get educated in and where would they work, since they are so difficult to do business in?
Unfortunately, the answer by too many is for more state control. Socialism failed there because its socialism and they dont recognize that they already live in a failed socialist state under a different name, misalocating the term market economy to what is really a socialist hell hole further ruined by outside loans to fund unprofitable causes, american military intervention, and DEA drug wars."

Let’s focus on the mothers and their children. But, instead of focusing on their anguish after exposure to tear gas, let’s focus on why any mother would subject her children to such danger. Let’s focus on who put these mothers and their kids out front in order to get a good photo op. Let’s focus on how these mothers and children were able to “march” all the way across Mexico. If these questions are answered fairly and truthfully, it would become clear that these mothers and their children are nothing more than small cogs being manipulated by the Left and various business interests with intersecting agendas in ongoing and coordinated attacks against our President and our country.

Or ......... you should have seen her before all the bus and truck rides.
Most importantly, How much did WaPo or Reuters pay you to drag the girls around for the camera?

Wouldnt surprise me in the least if the WaPo photographer slapped the kid to get it to cry.
All the laws did not take into consideration the thousands attempting to storm/invade our country, being financed by an enemy of our US. This is not migrants, they are dangerous foreigners.
Am I the only one who thinks that girl is rather old for diapers?
