China’s an important market to GN.
And you have to make there to sell there.

I’m so very happy that my tax dollars were used to bail out Government Motors! </sarc>

In 2015, FedGovCan wrote off $3.5 BILLION of that debt. Now, they walk away, screwing Oshawa. While I would never buy a GM vehicle, this only further reinforces my loathing of Government Motors. F’em!

General Motors plans to close Canadian assembly plant -

Looks like GM has had enough of “Trudy’s pinko BS”.

From the Globe and Mail:

“General Motors is shuttering its plant in Oshawa as part of a restructuring of its global operations to autonomous and zero-emission vehicles, sources say.”

This is not customer driven. This is the agenda of the Globalist Woke Elite.

Same as what is driving the fuel tax protests in France.

If global warming turns out to be BS (as I suspect) the powerful elites who destroyed people to promote their “carbon panic” should be lynched !

Isn’t that the same factory where they made the Camaros and Firebirds?

2,500 union staff and roughly 300 salaried employees

ONE manager for every EIGHT employees?

The previous Liberal governments in Ontario have left the province in such horrible shape that it will be a miracle if Dougie Ford can get it back on track. This GM hit is just the latest in a string of hits that coupled with the outrageous electrical rates brought on by the Green Energy Act (and other policies that make the province totally uncompetitive) means that Ontarians are in for a world of hurt.

Unfortunately, our Prime Minister has an effeminate nasal whine when ever he speaks... I can imagine him on the phone right now trying to convince GM to keep that plant in Canada... And the dude on the other end laughing out loud.

bbb…..bbbu…..bbb...bbbbut I thought that Canada’s Socialized Medcine plan saved GM $800/unit on employee benefit costs, making them unbelievably super-competitive.

It’s a little bit more than 1 plant.

GM is cutting 15% of its salaried workers
