Move to Indiana where there isn’t a mob of takers sucking at the government teat.
MIGA!
I’m moving to Indiana, possibly Iowa after kids graduate from college. Easy peasey.
Just stay in Illinois. Youve been there long enough to help build the fire, now watch it burn.
Republicans can confidently state that the
Cluster F.ck that is Illinois is not the
Fault of conservative political management.
The political endgame in Illinois is the same as it is in California, NY, NJ, and Connecticut. They will eventually become Republican. But not until the Democrats bankrupt those states.
Illinois is doomed anyway. Let the productive folks leave and the surrounding states can divide up the disaster that is already to far along to prevent.
They can join the resistance. It’s an uphill battle, though.
Believe it or not, live in rural red-state Illinois is pretty good. Sure there are taxes but IL ranks better than Minnesota, not quite as low as Iowa, and you don’t hear talk of people leaving those states:

Most of what happens in Springfield doesn’t affect normal people who support themselves. Cuts in programs obviously affect a certain segment of the population more than others and that’s true everywhere. Unemployment is down and economic growth is occurring, just not at the rate as in red states with pro-business climates. We had a Republican governor for the past 4 years and he sucked so bad a big majority (including a lot of R’s, obviously) decided to give the Democrat billionaire a try since the Republican one failed so miserably.
What could be improved? The IL Republican party could rise from the dead and start identifying, mentoring, and grooming some decent candidates for one thing. The R who opposed my Dem rep spewed 9-11 Truther BS and not even country R parties would support him. That’s just handing it to the Democrats, and even a gang of monkeys banging randomly on keyboards could put out a more coherent alternative vision than the IL R Party has done.
Out anywhere. I know they have the unconstitutional tax trap that keeps people from fleeing but at some point you have to cut your losses and start over again in a new state.

Where Do Illinois Republicans Go From Here?

I’d ask them move to Colorado or maybe Arizona, and get things back into the red again. It might be a two-fer if it can lose Illinois some electoral vote clout in the process
One thing our founding fathers did screw up. They make it hard to break away from the states. It’s hard, but the only thing to do is have Southern Illinois break away from Chicago and burbs. Hell Wisconsin and Induana should jettison Milwaukee and Gary to the nrw Chicago state.
Anybody who works in Chicago (and a lot of people who work in the burbs) can easily commute from Wisconsin or Indiana.
With FatBoy as governor and a boatload of Madigan minions in Springfield the game plan will be to bleed the productive to placate the leaches, who will remain a reliable voting bloc. The productive have already started to leave, and the new political reality will only exacerbate that trend (If I’m not mistaken, Illinois had the largest state population loss in the country last year).
As the productive leave, the financial crisis accelerates, especially as public sector workers (including lots of teachers) start to cash in the pensions their votes have been bought with over the past couple of decades. That increases the shortfall, which leads to higher taxes, which leads to more exodus of the tax-paying class.
This weekend I learned the German word “teufelkreis” - the devil’s circle - that’s the German term for a vicious cycle. When it comes to economics, the donkeycrats don’t understand the term in any language - but that’s where Illinois is headed. How the teufelkreis is resolved is anybody’s guess, but my expectation is that bankruptcy is the best Illinoisans can hope for. And if you live in any of the other 49 states, you need to make it clear you won’t stand for having the feds bail Illinois out of that coming financial fiasco.
Illinois 2016 presidential election map.
Illinois is a state riddled by blue cancer. Statewide, I don't know where Illinois Republicans go except into oblivion. Chicago and the collar counties dominate the state. The Chicago suburbs have been getting more blue. The General Assembly is hopelessly gerrymandered in favor of Democrats. There have been too many years of Combine RINOs running the party. Then, prominent GOP politicians, including the soon-to-be former governor, run like scared rabbits at the mere mention of the name of Donald Trump, which is a loser's strategy. Maybe now that the Democrats run the entire show people will make them own the disaster that they have made Illinois -- and that might be some hope for the GOP way down the line-- but I'm not going to hold my breath. It's too bad the way things have turned out, since the sh*tkickers in the red areas (I used to be one of them) deserve much, much better.
They go broke.

Where do the republicans in NY and jersey go? Get out your tin cup and shopping cart
The RINO leadership in the states’ Republican Party is screwing up the election...if Trump came and campaign for you, you won, if you ran away you lost. I think the Libertarian candidate dropped out to late...for Rosendale.
