The Otay Mesa Port of entry is about 12 miles east of San Ysidro. It is still open. I am in San Diego and I am watching Tijuana news on Canal 12 (channel 12). Normal programming has been interrupted. Right now the Tijuana police are gassing the dirt bags on the levee of the river.

I grew up near I-805/Telegraph Canyon Rd...long before the freeway existed...1962. I looked at house near San Ysidro when I got married. Turned it down for a condo near Hilltop and Orange in Chula Vista (1978). Sold that in 1983 and purchased a place in Mira Mesa near Parkdale & Mira Mesa Blvd. Sold that in Feb 2001 and moved to Idaho.

The pictures and places are familiar as an area native. I'm more than happy to be 925 miles north of the action.
