Hours after Republican Bob Stefanowski conceded the governor's race to Ned Lamont on Wednesday, talk at Bill and Sams Diner in Wolcott turned to sunny Florida.
Again and again during the campaign, Stefanowski warned that without a Republican governor people would continue to flee to states like Florida, with low taxes and balanced budgets. Now, over plates of pancakes and bacon at this landmark diner, retirees and workers alike rued Stefanowskis loss and mulled plans to get out.

As long as they dont bring their voting habits down here
Good, Florida needs a large influx of Republican voters. 8>)
It ain’t rocket science. We need a Donald Trump to MCGA.
We here in FL sure as heck dont need any CT democrats. Im not even sure their republians are conservatives. Just stay home, mmkay?
As long as they dont bring their home politics with them. Otherwise, stay and fight!
They vote for the same fools...there will be only five or six red seats in twenty years..
Colorado has be destroyed by Californians
I left in 2001
Now there destroying Florida
Add Arizona,North Carolina,Georgia
I’m stuck here for a while. My business and my aged parents keep me here. Otherwise, I want less snow, less tax and more godly neighbors.
They have screwed NC.
The Raleigh area is crap.
I don’t understand why the NE put up with these morons.
Don't YOU and other posters EVER read the articles? Or do you just have a reading comprehension problem?
WHY WOULD A DEM LEAVE A STATE, WHEN A DE3M HAS BEEN RE-ELECTED GOVERNOR?
My wife and I made the same decision after we married in 1997. In 1998 we left, and every time I go back, it is a little more sad, a little more gone. Not only did Commie Red Ned win, but CT lost two very good state senators, Joe Markley of Southington (he was on the Republican ticket for Lt. Gov.) and Len Suzio of Meriden. Len worked his backside off for the district, and his opponent didn’t even do any serious door-to-door. What she had, though, was $250,000 of Planned Parenthood and other PAC money spent on her behalf.
I loved the Connecticut I grew up in. Now, I sometimes tell people I come from Krypton. My home blew up decades ago.
“...I loved the Connecticut I grew up in. Now, I sometimes tell people I come from Krypton. My home blew up decades ago.....”
Yep. It really has changed a lot. We used to go there sometimes in the summer when we were kids to visit relatives, and it was a great place. Now...not so much.
FWIW, every time I see one of those license plates from there that says: “CONSTITUTION STATE” I about split a gut laughing. Of course, MA isn’t much better. It’s the home of our original freedom fight and it’s even more commie than CT. Sad...very sad.
One possible solution: Move to Rhode Island next door. 100k of them can park their vote there just like John Kerry parked his yacht. Instant red.
“I dont understand why the NE put up with these morons.”
Because these morons ARE the NE! Do you really think the NE States have ever been anything but a passel of RAT States? I mean with “repubican governors” like Romney and Fat Boy what to you think their RATs are like?
How the hell can the idiots of CN vote for the Democrat AGAIN?
Hard to believe that Connecticut of 20 years ago had NO income tax and the Democrats screwed that up and are continuing to drive the state into the ground.
But some will
Look everywhere in the south the north and California has moved in
Its gone purple
Especially combined with minority immigrant influx
I say that knowing good folk from Michigan Ohio New Jersey and Los Angeles whove moved to Nashville metro
Still you have to be honest about what it does on balance
You simply end up with more social liberals and more less enthusiastic right to work types
No way around that
They arent all moving for freedom
