It is doubly-ironic that Ocasio-Cortez was an economics major at Boston University, although one doubts that economics taught there would differ from the usual statism that dominates most college economics programs. One doubts that she intellectually internalized anything that would resemble price theory and certainly would not be able to identify anything resembling a shortage or surplus. That she will advocate for government intervention and establishment of programs that almost certainly will lead to shortages should not be lost on anyone.
The editors of The Nation and the New York Times may have convinced themselves that a young woman with a pretty face through sheer force of will can solve the problems that have bedeviled central planners for a century, but even though progressives may sincerely believe that economic laws don’t exist, that changes nothing. It is nothing more than another exercise in progressive arrogance. Bernie Sanders is not the “Keeper of the Secret” who can make socialism work. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not the “Keeper of the Secret” who can make socialism work. Joseph Stiglitz is not the “Keeper of the Secret” who can make socialism work. Paul Krugman is not the “Keeper of the Secret” who can make socialism work. There is no Keeper, no matter what American journalists tell us we are supposed to believe.

They need her to try to swing young Hispanics onto the Dem plantation that are either free thinkers or considering escape. Just as in the workplace, housing, and prisons, they need Hispanics to compensate for the stagnant black population - and they’ve picked her as the tool.
Glad to see her exposed in her rant against Amazon in Queens; she needs to squeeze them for revenues for the gibsmedats/”da-me-estos”, while they were handed incredible tax breaks to move there.

Marx was a classically trained economist. He understood much of how his ideas wouldn’t work - he just didn’t like it.

Democratic Socialism has never been tried, for the simple reason that socialism eliminates choice. “Democratic” means nothing when choice is excluded.
I never thought someone like her or Bernie Sanders could ever be in congress. Every time I see these two I can´t help but think of Nikita Kruschev´s speech at the UN. Unfortunately his words are becoming prophetic. I really feel sad for my young children and relatives that will see the disaster that is coming.
