TOMS shoe company plans to donate $5 million to various gun control groups. The company also launched a campaign to mobilize their customers to support the gun control agenda.
One of TOMS' campaigns includes a postcard campaign. Customers can input their name and address on their website and the company will send a postcard to their representative.
Here's what the postcards say:
Dear (representative),
More than 90% of Americans support universal background checks.
And I'm one of them.
As your constituent, I urge you to stand with me and pass this life-saving legislation.
Let's end gun violence together.
Sincerely, (your name)
The company's founder, Blake Mycoskie, came to the decision shortly after the tragic shooting in Thousand Oaks, California, not far from his family's home. His wife, Heather Lang, called Mycoskie in fear.
She said, Im not dropping our son off at school this morning, and I dont know if I ever will. Were not safe. Somebodys got to do something, he told Huffington Post. It was a pretty emotional moment for us.

What a bunch of heels!.........................
Frequently the cause of truly bad decision making ...
Never heard of them.
Expect Red Flag laws and "assault weapon" ban first.
Stop shoe violence...some people get the sh*t kicked out of them.
Trying to generate shoe sales...never heard of them but now he is tring to ctreate his own base. My criteria for dhoes is price versus quality and comfort. I don’t give a damn about this twerp’s politics.
Only Tom’s I know of are the cheapo snacks that used to be in vending machines. Never heard of TOMS shoes.
Didn’t know Toms was still around.
Adding them to my ban list though I’ve not seen one since I was a little kid.
Looked ‘em up.
Shoes are mostly ugly Millennial-type (Pajama Boy would love them), and grossly overpriced.
Easy to avoid.
I find it hard to believe that 90% of Americans want to outlaw private sales and give the government a backdoor registry of all the guns in America..
That’s what “universal background checks” is all about.
hmm...
Toms is barely a decade old. You were a little kid in 2006?
Tom’s does a lot of magazine advertising. VFW. Men’s mags, etc.
Good. After I posted that I thought about Thom McAnn’s. That’s where we always got our new shoes for school and Easter. I wonder if Thom McAnn’s still around?
Sheesh - check out their web site https://www.toms.com/
Never head of them.
Maybe the name reminded you of Thom McAnn's? Did me.
At the core of liberal pathology is the fact that they are uncomfortable or unwilling to hold individuals accountable for their actions. Their inordinate sympathy for criminals is another byproduct of their wrongheaded and bizarre values. Their idiocy is being incorporated into policy and is eroding American culture.
It’s always great business to make decisions based on emotions!
