Francis Has Mobilized The Papacy’s Absolute Monarchy Against Justice
The Federalist ^ | Nov. 19, 2018 | Willis L. Krumholz and Robert Delahunty

Pope Francis administered a stunning and humiliating shock to the bishops of the Catholic Church in the United States last week. The American bishops had gathered in Baltimore to discuss a pair of measures to deal with the continuing crisis over clerical sexual abuses in this country.

The measures were fairly modest. One sought to build on the 2002 “Dallas charter” — measures designed to stop priests’ abuse of children, mostly young boys — by extending its rules on reporting and accountability to bishops. The other would have launched an investigation, led by lay Catholics, into reports of abuses by bishops. Conceivably, this would have looked into how former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick of Washington, D.C., could have risen to the top of the U.S. Catholic hierarchy, despite being widely known — in secular circles, to the Vatican, and to many in the church — as being a serial abuser and harasser of young adult male seminarians (and at least one young boy).

One more reason for the ongoing Federal investigations of the RC Church to get hotter and harder. Put simply, that pure evil anti-Catholic, islamocommunist, sodomite, Bergoglio, has utterly violated the Church as our own subhuman America and American hating islamocommunist Obola violated America. The only difference is we were able to have an election and the Church isn't.

This Pope is the Obama-style Manchurian candidate for the Catholic Church. Left is right. Down is up. Judeo-Christian tradition must be submerged to Marxism. Etc, etc.

I feel free saying that without worry of offending because this is on the “News/Activism” forum rather than the “Religion” forum, where some might think I was intruding.

The ImPopester’s mission is to destroy the moral authority of the Catholic Church and the institution.

He is succeeding.

It’s a good thing that pope isn’t the head of the Church/the body of Christ.

Saint Paul predicted it. There would be a ‘great falling away’ from the church before the coming of Christ.............be watchful...............

I believe in my bones that Francis is part of the sex abuse club. He's too heavily invested in covering it up, even when it's obvious he's covering it up. He doesn't care who knows so long as the facts never come out.

They forced out a good Pope who was trying to address problems and put in a damned pederast. That's what the church is now, at the highest level. I am totally disillusioned with this church now, I don't really consider myself Catholic anymore. I am adrift.

My hope is that most Catholics see through him, and are as appalled and disgusted by it, as we are....and thus not “falling away” from their faith. My prayer is that Catholics will know Christ and keep their faith DESPITE the Catholic Church.

The night before the conference, the pope abruptly quashed both measures. The bishops were left reeling, and lay Catholics were stunned and dismayed.

I was Catholic educated (through Jesuit college) and I have to say that I'm proud to be pagan at this time in my life.

I attended a (Jesuit) college friend's funeral a few months ago. Not even the vaguest hint of Catholicism at the funeral -- so maybe I'm not alone.

I've told my wife to just give me a Norse pagan funeral (or as close to one as EPA and state and local laws and regulations will allow).

I’m rather sure that the RCC was not the church Paul was referring to.

Pepsi-junkie, this thought cam to me at Mass this morning and it may hep you, too:

I had just written a longish and rather incendiary email to my pastor, who is a good man and whom I consider a friend. I had asked my husband FReeper don-o for advice on whether to send it, because I was a little daunted by the possibility I was endangering my good relations with the pastor.

And after don-o read it carefully, he said, "Send it as-is. If you really do have a level of mututal trust with Fr. P, this won't disrupt it. He'll know he needs to hear this. But if your relationship is based on fluff and blather, it's really no use to either of you."

Then at Mass the thought struck me that od knew from all

And the Enemy of Ssouls is simply doss One-Two punch: first bring down the shepherds in disgrace, then scatter the sheep. It's not like it's never happened before! An our orders have never been, "When the wolves come, abandon the flock!" It's always been, "The hirelings will run: you stand your ground."

God knew from all eternity that this was going to happen, so God placed His people in position to fight, and God placed me in the Church to be here --- right here, right now --- to stand and fight.

It's about activating the grace of your Baptism and Confirmation. That's why we're called the Church Militant, right?

No Fear. No flight.

We stand and fight.

Pepsi_junkie, many of us feel adrift. Arthur Brooks described my feeling exactly in his NYT article:

Hold fast, keep the faith!

As painful as it may be in the short term, it needs to be done. I agree and hope the investigation expands to encompass all dioceses nation wide.

I have heard it said that evil only defends itself when confronted. I believe that. I also believe that evil expands when it is not.

Your position is understandable but not good for you. The other apostles did not leave the faith because of Judas. The fight is real, very real. It is not much different from our forefathers who took up arms against the invading Islamics. They did not expect to return from the fight but they went because they were soldiers for Christ. Your baptism made you a soldier of Christ as well. At your particular judgement He will ask you why you left Him. 'Because others sinned' is not a good answer. Matthew 24:13 - He who shall endure to the end shall be saved.

Take up your cross and follow Me is not easy but it is possible. Find a good parish which teaches the Eternal Truths handed down to us. Educate yourself, pray your rosary. Stay on the Barque of St Peter, remember the storm on the sea of Galilee. Our Lord set things right in the His time.

“The other apostles did not leave the faith because of Judas.”

In the case of the RCC the faith and the church are two very, very different things.

Aaaaaack! Sorry for all those typos, including whole sentences that dropped out. I composed that on my Kindle, and that's always bad news.

But there's this: all this crap has happened before, both in the B.C. times( Israel) and in the A.D. times (Catholic Church) and God deals with the corruption by sending prophets, to say "You are corrupt" and "You are going to get your assets kicked by the Assyrians because of this" and so forth, but in the end the faithful remnant are saved, not because they scattered (as the Evil One wants them to) but because they remained and ere faithful.

Don't scatter. That's exactly what the Adversary is planning on. Because he hates you.

Stay. Persist. Gather around the good guys. There are good parishes, there are good dioceses, support Bp.Strickland in Tyler,TX for instance if your own bishop is a wolf-in-shepherd's-clothing, remain in Christ and in the sacramental life He has given to us as our precious inheritance.

The Church is the Body of Christ, not the Body of Francis. I'm Catholic even if Francis isn't. I will not cut myself off because the severed Hand cannot heal the Body. And I double-dog-guarantee that ain't gonna chase me out because that's Hell's strategic move.

My vote:

Hell no.

Heaven yes.
