I’m sure General Franco would approve taking Gibraltar.

Exactly right. Basically just declare that “this is not working out for us” and simply leave. The more they prolong the exit the worse it gets.

The EU will fuss and make idle threats but they’ll get over it within a year. They have lots of far more pressing problems to deal with inside their own block. They’ll quickly move on to the next crisis and Great Britain will sort out its own issues.

A year from now Brexit will be a forgotten issue.

Spain seeks to expand it’s sovereignty and absorb territory controlled by another European nation. And their excuse is: nationalism is bad and the UK is insufficiently embracing the concept of a unified Europe.

Well, sure it sounds bad when you put it that way but ... oh heck. I got nothing.

Spain ceded the territory to Britain in 1713. This is a perpetual saga that’s not going to be settled any time soon.

I don’t know if that’s relevant anymore. Lots of people seem to be checking out of Kalifornia these days. LOL

Yes, I presume they will remove this border fence on the other side of the Gibraltar Straits and give the land back to Morocco..../S

And after that year, BMW will still be selling more cars in the UK than Germany...:^)

Good point. Why waste time wrangling with and fretting over a bunch of EU bureaucrats who a just making lots of noise? Ignore them and do what you have to do.

The EU is such a mess you’d think that the Brits would realize that a year from now they will be thankful they’ve left that basket case of chaos.

You have well stated the worst case scenario.

I would suggest that the freedom of passage is well known and highly valued. It will not be trashed.

Somehow, they will muddle through. There can be no return to the old ways
