American’t: From Midterms to End Times (Here comes The American Apocalypse - best article ever)
American Thinker ^ | Selwyn Duke

Posted on 11/20/2018 2:24:53 AM PST by RoosterRedux

Truly great disasters come like a thief in the night. How many foresaw Rome’s sacking in 410 A.D., her collapse 66 years later, WWI or WWII? As for today, how many see that the United States is at what some call a tipping point, what others may call a Fourth Turning? Whatever you call it, the American republic is in its last days. This is too scary for many to contemplate, but there’s something far scarier: playing ostrich and not being prepared for things to come.

The so-called Left, ever violent since its French Revolution birth and as power hungry as ever, wholly controls the culture: the media, mainstream and social; academia; and entertainment. This means it controls long-term politics, since the latter is downstream of culture. So is big business, mind you, which is why the Left controls most of it as well; this, of course, translates into funding.

Trump’s 2016 victory will not MAGA; it was merely a stay of execution, a prolonging of the inevitable. This should have been obvious in a country that could elect Barack Obama and then, like the Titanic having backed up to hit the iceberg again, re-elect him. If it wasn’t, it should be obvious now that the Democrats have seized the House in a Watergate-level rout.

...

There no longer is an “American people”; there are peoples living in America. We’re balkanized not just racially, ethnically and religiously, but also ideologically, sexually and philosophically; we speak different languages, literally and figuratively. With open talk of open-borders socialism on one side and nationalism on the other, the Overton window is now so wide that each end occupies a different time zone. Frankly, many of us hate each other. If our union were a marriage, we’d have divorced long ago.

Exactly. You can even schitt in the streets and we’ll pay government workers to eventually come pick it up.

We won’t prevent it because those are good paying “government” (union) jobs.

If the author speaks of the democrat “victory” without commenting on the fraud involved, then the author is not what he or she pretends to be.

This qrticle is what I have taught my Sunday School kids for the past 10 years (since 2008). America has had a good run, but it will fall to the Leftist Dems. Our kingdom is not of this world. That is our final hope.

Query, how do we win the immigrants over

You don't. They have to go back.

I’ve been saying this for awhile. It’s 1861 folks. When half the country despises the other half there is zero chance for unification. Sooner or later one of two things is going to happen: civil war where one side wins and one side loses or a demographic breakup into 2-3 nation states.

It’s “Basically” run by NYC and those upstate will tell you this within the first sentence of a conversation.

But those same people tell me that no one needs large capacity mags, no one needs an AR15 and that they are just fine with woodenstocks and fudd-guns.

Then they come to my area in PA and walk all over everyone and p!$$ all over everything. They move here and bring their votes with them. They came to the area and spoiled our midterm election results (Still republican, but the dem numbers were WAY higher than they were 2 years ago)

I’m just as sick of people from NYS as I am of those from NYC.

There are a few fair points, a lot of glass half empty, and some good old-fashioned stupid in this article.

Mr Duke, who as far as I can tell from his prior postings in Sept 2016 wasn't a fan of Trump (though he was pretty anti-Hillary). So, to me, he is suspect from the get-go. To be fair, his analysis of why Trump won was generally good. Alas, in the span of two years when lots of good things have happened (so many that Laz had to stop sending out updates), Mr Selwyn appears to have taken the statists' bait and drunk copiously from the vat of Despair kool-aid and gone straight to surrender/guerrilla warfare. It is stunning...I wonder how this guy survived 8 years of Obama without moving into a bunker.

Look, I get it...it was a crushing midterm election in the House. There are lots of bad signs from fraud, to losses that - prescinding from fraud - should have been wins. Antifa, the muscle wing of the DNC, camped out in front of Tucker Carlson's home. The Dems get to pick a Speaker and perhaps Ms Ocasio-Cortez may be help take back the three chambers of government.

And yet, we picked up a few Senate seats. There remains strong support for Trump - and its in-line with Obama at the 2 year point - and the #WalkAway movement, while it didn't crystallize into votes, remains vibrant. But this guy wants to pack it in, because we couldn't change a generation of cultural rot in 24 months? MAMA Mia!

On the time-series analysis of aging/dying convsevatives and fresh voting Millenials...Mr Selwyn seems to have forgotten (and which reed13k noted as well) that the rest of the nation aged as well. Thus, middle aged people who were mildly centrist in 2016 are more conservative in 2020. And they're probably pissed at what they see in the nation. Finally, for what it's worth, if Mr Selwyn emerged from his bunker every now and then, he'd find that a YUGE number of Millenials aren't pod-eating snowflakes.

The core of Mr Selwyn's surrender is that there are lots of immigrants and 'other people' that he thinks can't be converted to liberty. I also think he doesn't want to get his hands dirty with actual work. Trump won by only 60,000 votes...we need to win over people...ya can't do that with a blog, Mr Selwyn and your tribal mindset guarantees us losing the nation.

The lucky thing for those of us who WANT a larger group of MAGA-loving citizens is that there ARE many people on the margins who are sick of being used and lied to. #WalkAway was one manifestation of it. The HARD WORK required to actually WIN THEIR HEARTS AND MINDS is the only obstacle. It wasn't enough for the Betamax to be superior to VHS...you have to get out from behind your keyboard and meet Acutal Other People.

I've said it many, many times, and I get it: maybe some people chafe at the thought of engaging with minorities, immigrants, gays, Millenials etc. And yes, some men, you can't reach. But I would rather have the likes of Peter Thiel, Candace Owens, Diamonds & Silk, and Ben Carson at my barbecue than Paul Ryan, Willard, Jeb! and George Will. The former would more likely fight NOW while the latter would surrender now and hope we win on a Hail Mary pass.

We have been entrusted with a republic - if we can keep it. Yes, the Germans have bombed Pearl Harbor but we are still alive. We have two years to reverse course and keep this train moving. Who's with me?

Every trip to Sams includes a roast chicken.

The $5 roast chicken is perhaps the best food deal in the world. The size exceeds the average supermarket deal.

Yes. The populations out of control are not those who believe in our Constitution and Bill of Rights, the laws we have designed and implemented to keep people dignified, educated and happy. We do take care of our less gifted and handicapped and our poor who are such not by their designs.

We have failed in my opinion in not being hard enough on killers, societal malcontents who have and are creating destruction, deaths of our policing forces and sedition. Somehow we have let the communists and socialists dictate what we as humans and conservatives find to be repugnant. We have failed by diminishing the worth of life by supporting Planned Parenthood. We have not encouraged the maintenance of family ties. We are not holding each person accountable for their actions. We have not protected the mentally ill and unstable. We have much to answer for but we have created much to happy and proud to have done.

There is no country on earth as fine as the USA for the vast majority of its populations.

I am so old I may not see the denouement of our nation much further than it has gone now, but I have great sorrow for our children and grandchildren. If I had been prescient I would not have had children at all. I cannot imagine what their lives will be like...Gabon, Venezuela, China....

I cannot see anything except a split preceded by civil war. What a horror that will be. I do have much accountability to the media, Soros et al, the communists and socialists who see nothing but their profit in the continuing down turn.

Trump has it in his power to have many of his enemies perp walked. I can’t understand why he is so hesitant to make the moves to accomplish this. Why haven’t IC’s been appointed to investigate the coup attempt and the Clinton/Obama Crime Syndicate? Why did he create the Commission on Election Integrity only to strangle it in it’s crib? Had this commission been allowed to aggressively complete it’s task two or three senate seats and untold congressional seats would not have been stolen. Scott Walker would still be governor. Why did Trump sit idly by and watch the frauds being committed in Florida and Georgia just hoping it would turn out OK? Why isn’t his Commerce Department and DOJ at least looking at anti trust efforts against Big Social Media? Why does Trump fiddle as corrupt hack judges burn down the good he does accomplish? The president doesn’t need the support of the DS to start to rectify all of these concerns. Trump just needs to direct his cabinet to do it. If the secretaries don’t comply replace them. A good example is the new acting AG who is perfect for the task but apparently is being reigned in so as not to offend the delicate sensibilities of our bloodthirsty leftist enemies. Trump has pussy footed around with the Mob and it’s stooge press long enough.

Agree with every word. I’ve wondered the same thing. Trump is MIA on so many issues. President Trump is a patriot who loves our country and it’s people. We are blessed to have his leadership and commitment at this point in our history.

As a candidate, perhaps he underestimated how complex and deep seated the countries problems truly are.

Everyone is shouting and pointing that the “left” is destroying our country.

The real villains in this pathetic theater are non other than the Republicans in both Houses, who looked the other way while obama savaged our country.

After Trump was elected, they should have rallied behind him and crushed the rebellion that he was elected to fight.

Instead they sit on their hands and do nothing...nothing.

Trump has no chance without the support of his own majority in the Senate, and they are MIA as well.

He can’t do it alone, and the Republicans won’t lift a finger to help. They are responsible for the destruction of our country, they alone.

I’m actually surprised that Trump hasn’t resigned in disgust.

The Constitution of the United States is a wonderful Social Contract. It was written by people that truly understood human suffering and worked tirelessly to limit it for their children. Everything in the document is basically a road sign that says “this is how things go bad!”.

That Social Contract was written for, and agreed upon by a People. We are no longer a “People”. The contract is broken and I was not the dissenting party. So what is left to “conserve”? I refuse to fight to conserve the current status. I will never submit to a lifetime of being a tax cattle for them to leech from.

So, the future of America? I no longer care. The preservation of the Union? I no longer care. Who will win? Who will rule the future? I don’t care. The only thing I want is to inflict as much pain and suffering and loss on the traitors as possible. I am simply holding on for now until the day comes when my hands will be free. I don’t no longer care what comes after.

Lastly, history isn’t static. There are countless example of civilizations failing, and then reappearing once again, driven by the same fundamental factors that founded this country.

We have witnessed the demise of a major world power in our lifetime. Again we woke up one morning, read the newspaper and learned the USSR was kaput. Of course there was more to it than that but that is what many of us saw.

I was in Mongolia after the demise and the people were EXCITED about the future. All the old rules were gone and they started rebuilding. It was like the frontier days here. Of course there was a lot of international help afterwards. All the public signs were in English while I was there but signs in Chinese were growing.

Along with this was rediscovering their heritage, which in their case was Buddhism and Chinggis Kahn. Their heritage had been hidden by communism for 80 years.

We will rediscover our heritage when times get hard enough.....

Asians, many/most of whom escaped communism, should be voting GOP at a 90%+ rate.

Why should they be voting GOP at all?

Your view is only valid if economic determinism is true, and although weak Marxism infects most Americans' thinking, economic determinism is still a lie.

Race and religion are what drive peoples to act.

Asians hate whites just as much as blacks do, maybe more.

It's perfectly logical for them to turn out for the colored party.

"The Deep State has probably already had the "Nice family ya got dere. Be a shame if somethin' happened to 'em." talk with him, so he has to proceed with great caution."

You may have something there. He seems to have boundaries beyond which he won't go, like his statement that he would declassify and release the FISA documents and then he was backed off.
