New York entrepreneur and Democratic 2020 candidate Andrew Yang wants to implement a system in which a government-run mobile app rewards Americans with digital social credits (DSCs) for good behavior.
Americans would receive DSCs under Yangs system for things such as participating in a town fair, fixing a neighbors appliance or tutoring a student, his presidential campaign website explains.
As individuals rack up DSCs, they would have both a permanent balance theyve earned over their lifetime and a current balance. They could cash the points in for experiences, purchases with participating vendors, support for causes, and transfer points to others for special occasions, Yang states on his website. As their permanent balance gets higher, they might qualify for various perks like throwing a pitch at a local ballgame, an audience with their local Congressperson or meeting their states most civic-minded athlete or celebrity.
The most socially detached would be the most likely to ignore all of this, he added. But many people love rewards and feeling valued.
Yangs social credit plan bears some similarities to the social credit system implemented by Chinas authoritarian government.
Every citizen in China is assigned a social credit score that determines whether they can buy plane or train tickets.
Unlike the Chinese system, Yangs plan does not include using digital social credit for punitive measures.

He should enjoy his title as “the looniest candidate for president” while he can. He’ll only hold that title for a little while as Hillary is likely to enter the race soon.
Mouse and cheese.
Government (dems) define “good behaviour”.
Next is UBI.
Sounds great!
Mass graves, anyone?
Goodthink: Thoughts that are approved by the Party and follow its policies, ideals and interpretations.
Background seems to be San Fransicko
Note that since the states have never expressly constitutional delegated to feds the specific power to tax and spend for such an incentive program, the described Democratic vote-winning payback program would have to be implemented under 10th Amendment-protected state powers.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Otherwise, the federal version would amount to just another unconstitutional expansion of the already unconstitutionally big federal governments powers.
Yeah, evolve free elections away.
DIGITAL NOMENKLATURA SYSTEM
Zampolits also, soon..?
this would be used until they discovered that the actual do good erst are conservativesand noT outraged SJWs.
What could go wrong?
You could qualify for perks like TSA Pre-Check, Doctors’ appointments, expedited deliveries....
Own a gun get a social credit.
When I first read about the Chinese social credit system, I knew that it would be less than 5 years before the “compassionate” totalitarians of the Democratic Party would propose this as policy in this country.
This guy will be loved by the left. His platform includes $1000.00 a month income for all between 18 and 65 years old, no questions asked or expectations. He was born in the US and both his parents are immigrants from Taiwan.
Here’s how you handle this guy — PROMOTE PROMOTE PROMOTE!
Conservatives (not the elitists-type) want to restore America to it’s former greatness - democrats want to make us like China! AND PEOPLE VOTE FOR THAT???
“Every citizen in China is assigned a social credit score that determines whether they can buy plane or train tickets.”
Sure sounds like an antichrist economic plan to me
It’s a way of putting people in gulags without the gulags.
The need to protect the Second Amendment grows more crucial every day.
