Article about Trumps visit and conversation about changing forest management practices.

I heard over 1,000 missing today. Some will be found in other places, but sounds like the death toll will continue to rise with that many missing this long

He mentioned clearing underbrush and thinning trees. The eco freaks need to have a fist shoved down their throats if the object.

Boy, you’ve gotta love this guy! He doesn’t give the Rats a second to recover, and then he jabs them again good and hard. If the topic weren’t so tragic, I’d be laughing my head off.

I grew up in SoCal in the eighties and a lot of liberal conservationists from groups like the Sierra Club and the Audubon Society were saying the same things the president was saying today about forest management there. Thirty years ago there were still more than a few lefty environmentalists who used common sense.

There was a wildfire near Silverthorne, CO this summer. A fire break had been cut a few years prior near a large subdivision. Many homes were saved due to that fire break.

You’d think the insurance companies would be working on this. No fire suppression in an area, higher rates are in order.

**“There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor,” Trump tweeted last Saturday. “Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!”**

I agree, Mr. President!

“You’d think the insurance companies would be working on this.”

Excellent point. Fire management seems to be basic science. Proper forest management and firebreak management is a proven thing that works.
The blood of the dead from these and past fires, is on the hands of the environmentalists who have prevented prudent management all these years.

Fire management seems to be basic science.

It is, but this isn't a scientific or technical problem, it's entirely political and financial, and Jerry Brown owns it.

Sure, let’s stsrt focusing on keeping hillsides less fueled. We should clear brush (using risky fire but we do have the best firefighters in the world so we can do this) every June. Definitely. There won’t be any more rain then and the brush won’t get so big if any. Smart idea.

But let’s look at some other causes like these electricity giants who may have caused both of these. You know, the energy giants who have the GOVERNOR’S SISTER on their board. You know, the companies who CHOSE TO BUILD THEIR SUBSTATION ON A NUCLEAR TEST SITE that was never cleaned.

There’s a lot of blame to go around.

And if it isn’t the corporate or environmental bullies, it’s the PROTECTED CLASS of deranged homeless, who started the Bel Air fire earlier this year by trying to get warm under a bridge.

This is a frustrating place to live. I feel very disenfranchised. Even my President is not apparently welcome or safe here.

He’s right..the environmentalist freaks allow this to happen all the time because they refuse to allow dead trees to be taken down. Stupid commie media here keeps on talking about climate change..like that had ANYTHING to do with these fires, it was most likely caused by SoCal Edition and PG&E what does that have to do with climate change

they refuse to allow dead trees to be taken down.

And I’ve read that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) refuses to let controlled burns occur if there is little or no wind—dangerous air pollution and if it is windy enough to mitigate local air pollution, it is too windy to do a safe burn. Catch 22, but now with extremely tragic results—1000 missing/unaccounted for on top of a very high death toll.

This is what happens when you let the dems and eco fecal freaks run anything larger than a lemonade stand. California overrun by illegals and much of it burned to the ground

Some recent years go, the insurance companies dropped fire insurance on home in the Calif God County foothills. Western side of the Sierra Nevada, just like Paradise.

I had a log house in Grass Valley in Nevada County. Left there 14 years ago. Midd the log house, but glad I don’t have to always be alert for fire.
