Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), made headlines when she revealed that she wouldnt be able to afford Washington, D.C. rent until her government salary kicks in.
The lack of affordable housing in Washington is no joke, but the predicament also speaks to the young lawmakers financial literacy or lack thereof. The 29-year-old didnt think to consider something as basic as the relocation expenses of a new job opportunity.
If she doesnt know how much an apartment costs, how much confidence should taxpayers have in her ability to effectively deliver trillions of dollars in campaign promises?
Ocasio-Cortez has proposed free "Medicare for All," free college tuition, guaranteed federal employment at $15 an hour and free houses for the nations poorest. These ideas have been conservatively priced at $40 trillion twice as much money currently listed on the national debt.
Its the kind of extremist proposal youd expect to hear from someone who has never made a budget, never been responsible for a business and payroll and never had taxes deducted from a hard-earned paycheck. It's the kind of proposal you've heard from Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro and Hugo Chavez before him.

I think she is fishing for someone to start a go fund me page.
She wasn’t elected by taxpayers, but by people looking for others to pay their bills. The whole party is built on that.
Cross your fingers. She could be the new Standard
At least she doesnt walk around wearing cowboy hats
Frankenstein has lost control of his monster.
And she is a lesbo, the only truly happy lesbo I’ve ever seen.
I TOLD people here not to underestimate her. What do I know? I am fed up with folks not listening. People get what they deserve for their attitudes and refusal to listen.
This wasn’t reporting by the Hill. Guest commentators. Still, I’m amazed it appeared in print. :-)
I believe her college degree is in Economics. Prior to her candidacy, she was working as a bartender.

Just showing that while we conservatives will get to see ugly and unpleasant things such as these, that is likely preferable to being someone that really depends on government and the overall system of things that is now very corrupt and rotten and is likely soon to collapse under it’s own weight and contradictions.
It’s not just economic illiteracy in US.. it’s total educational illiteracy in US. The educational system in the majority of the US especially colleges is pathetic at best and the only thing being taught is leftist ideology.. basically, nothing of use.
Well I mean she endorses socialism. Do we need to know anything else about her to know she is economically illiterate?
She and AZ newest Senator should get together and share rent on an apt.
The vast majority of dems are batshit crazy. And yet they keep getting elected. Maybe the majority of Americans voters are batshit crazy.
Rampant economic illiteracy BY DESIGN.
Has been a goal of the public education system since the late 70’s, in furtherance of the goals of Cloward-Piven.
What a waste.
On the other hand, a perfect Jesuit idol.
The working class intuitively understands that they are being stolen from - it is just easy to mislead them about who is actually doing the stealing.
