NeverTrump Republicans have been rabidly obsessed since 2015 to prevent Donald Trumps nomination, election, and having failed, to join the left in nonstop criticism and condemnation of President Trump. They may be succeeding, but to what end? As they look around at the current political landscape, are they truly happy with the direction of the country? Or is that irrelevant, as long as they can strut around on their high horse, feeling smug, telling each other I told you so?
The NeverTrump movement began shortly after Trump announced his candidacy for the presidency. So-called principled Republicans were incensed that a loud-mouth from Queens, a TV reality star, a host of beauty pageants, someone never before elected to public office, should challenge the Republican establishment orthodoxy.
His tweets and straight talk were unacceptable. Calling out the media and his political opponents ran against the grain of how they thought Republicans should handle themselves in a presidential campaign. Trump did not follow the proper and acceptable savoir faire of John McCain or Mitt Romney, two prominent NeverTrumpers. The fact that both lost their elections to an easily defeatable far-left candidate who damaged the country badly during his eight-year reign of fundamentally transforming America seems to be lost on Trumps GOP critics.
The NeverTrump names are familiar. Aside from the two noted above, there are others, all one-time Republicans, although their conservative beliefs have been tossed out the window over political expediency or ego. George Will, Max Boot, Steve Schmidt, Bret Stephens, Jennifer Rubin, and anyone with the last name of Bush. There are many in Congress too Paul Ryan, Jeff Flake, Ben Sasse, Bob Corker, and others.

Only a phony tin god empress or emperor with a D besides the name will do.
Their only accomplishment was to stink the GOP up, each for their own petty personal reasons.
NeverTrumpers love evil.
> “They may be succeeding, ...”
I don’t see them succeeding.
They are happy. NeverTrumpers are simply moderate Democrats. Well, sort of moderate.
They are thrilled.
Actually, they are happy. Ecstatic even. Most of them would rather have the third term of Obama than Trump crashing their little club for another four years.
Good article. I loathe every SOB Never Trump POS.
I know of a few brain dead dim lemmings that opine for the wun.
[Only a phony tin god empress or emperor with a D besides the name will do.]
Oh, like Obama or Hillary.
Or cross-dressing Beto O’Fake.
The kneepad wing of the Republican party.
NeverTrumpers are Democrats who had to pretend to be Republicans in order to run in a Republican-leaning district, or to get a Republican audience. And now we know what they really are.
We had all of these Libbies and RINO punks on the run after 9/11, when Bushie was at 90% approval, Barbara Streisand was hounded into removing anti-American content from her website, and the Dixie Chicks were getting booed off the stage.
Note to everyone: Please don’t post articles by David French, and others who tried so desperately to damage our country.
I do believe I dislike traitors even more than I dislike democrats - if the President is forced out before his term is up, it will be because of senate republican votes. I see the Bishop leading the way, too
The entire purpose of Bush League Republicans is to prevent the citizens from stopping the Cheap Labor Express.
I’d say they have been very successful.
we have to support one side or the other.....rats are absolutely evil to the core so that leaves us the stinking pub party but at least it includes patriots and conservatives....
we must never support third party candidates..
once the primaries are over, one support the pub candidate...
you don't bad mouth your own party or its candidates....
we absolutely need all pub candidates to win their races even if some don't especially like them....
NeverTrumpers were NEVER conservative. That was a B.S. facade, a mask beneath which lurked their Mencken-like disdain for the inferior and distasteful common folk.
Being in the Majority requires leadership, hard work and courage. 3 things that are absolutely abhorrent to the GOPE and “Conservative Inc”
