Somehow, I doubt if ISIS is responsible for these fires not far from my own city. I doubt it, because the death toll
at this time is ‘only’ about 50. ISIS knows how to kill people, and they usually have no inhibitions about doing so when given the opportunity. I certainly don’t wish it, but I think ISIS (with their sick ambition) would have found some way to kill far, far more people if they were doing this.
I have heard other theories.

Their aim is not only to kill people, but to inflict economic damage, which is what the fires are accomplishing.

Their objective may not be the killing of people but economic disaster which is just as devastating.
I have been telling friends and relatives for years that if I were a terrorist I would organize 20 or 30 of my terrorist buddies and go around setting fires, forest or other kinds in different places at the same synchronized time and date.
I’ve also speculated that, if I were a terrorist, another tactic for mass causalities would be to simultaneously attack numerous all-you-can-eat buffets at supper time.
I have been saying for 20 years or more that fire was the cheapest terror weapon available and they would adopt it someday.

I call BS on this. Because if that were the case they would pick red states, not blue who support their terror.

Unnecessary, and way too much collateral damage. It would be much more gratifying on a personal level to just declare open season w/ no bag limit, and let the general population have at it until they’re all exterminated. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me to see that happen spontaneously one of these days.
Not far off. If I remember my history, the Ottoman Turks put a tax on all trees, so everyone went out and cut theirs down.
