Angela Merkel called for the creation of a 'real, true' European army during a speech to EU ministers on Tuesday in a rebuke to President Trump.

The German Chancellor also called for a European Security Council that would be responsible for coordinating defence policy on the continent.

Merkel spoke out after French President Emmanuel Macron floated the same idea last week, drawing the ire of President Donald Trump.

This seems to be the process they are going down:

1. Establish a standing EU army.
2. Dissolve armies of individual EU member nations in favor of some token national guard.
3. Dissolve NATO since member nations no longer have armies
4. Rule Europe from Brussels with an Iron fist, crush all future "exit" moves in the cradle, prosper! Or so they think.

President Trump must be smiling “yuge” at this news. He can close all bases in Western Europe and can simply state that he is honouring the wishes of the EU. This will save billions.
