Outgoing Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has some advice for Democrats now that theyve gained back control of the House: divide and conquer.
The Democrats should triangulate," the Chicago mayor said during a panel discussion on ABC News This Week with George Stephanopoulos." "They should find everything that Mitch McConnell and the president dont agree on and go right at it, because that will force a division in the Republican Party and bring in whatever moderate wings of the Republicans that are left and bring them over to the Democratic.
Emanuel, speaking of the Senate GOP leader, said: Wherever Mitch McConnell is against something minimum wage, health care costs, pre-existing conditions and the president is for it, you drive 64,000 miles an hour and you hit it.
With his comments, Emanuel, who was a three-term congressman from Illinois before spending two terms in Chicagos mayoral office, appears to be diving back into Washington politics after electing not to run for a third term in office. He was previously President Barack Obamas chief of staff from 2009 to 2010.
Speaking alongside former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie who is rumored to be on the shortlist to replace Jeff Sessions as President Trumps attorney general Emanuel continued his post mortem of the midterm elections by pointing to the gains made by Democrats.
Listen, they (Democrats) secured and are starting to secure the majority in the suburbs and some exurban areas, Emanuel said. The biggest win for the Democrats? We finally got a farm team after a big drought.
Emanuel, however, said that Democrats didnt see the fulfillment of the so-called blue wave they were expecting and that Republicans also made solid gains last Tuesday.

It’s obvious these people are enemies and traitors to the Republic...time to ‘round them up and try them as same.
Cause its worked out so well for the citizens of Chicago.
I say citizens because the Ferals want more of the same.
Why wait to try them? Let us go ahead and do “Peoples Tribunals” now, try them “in absentia”. Have the trials done, verdicts ready and then execute the sentence if they have been found guilty. They will do it to us if they get the chance.
His advice is sound. But they won’t be able to do it. Today’s Democrat base is going to insist on all-hard-Left-all-the-time. Triangulation is off the table.
Wait. Aren’t these the same people who forever moaned about “dividing us” and wanting someone to unify us?
My advice to American Christians is to fast and pray, buy guns off of fellow civilians and stock on ammo. Hell is comming. Do not go quietly.
Sounds like it’s coming to that.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
... the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Federal Constitution, is in the States, and not in the Federal Government [emphases added]. Rep. John Bingham, Congressional Globe, 1866. (See about middle of 3rd column.)
"Our Constitution never conferred upon the Congress of the United States the power - sacred as life is, first as it is before all other rights which pertain to man on this side of the grave - to protect it in time of peace by the terrors of the penal code within organized states; and Congress has never attempted to do it. There never was a law upon the United States statute-book to punish the murderer for taking away in time of peace the life of the noblest, and the most unoffending, as well, of your citizens, within the limits of any State of the Union, The protection of the citizen in that respect was left to the respective States, and there the power is to-day [emphasis added]. Rep. John Bingham, Congressional Globe. (See bottom half of third column.)
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Patriots, we really need to get rid of the ill-conceived 17th Amendment.
The 16th Amendment needs to disappear too.
Goin’ on a RINO hunt
Gonna get a big one
Yes, that is the kind of rhetoric we want to hear from public servants
This is why EVERY Republican in House and Senate must get completely onboard with Trump MAGA agenda in every way and fight as a unified team.
Yeah, that’s gonna happen.... Never forget who the swamp dwellers are.
I know states can't technically "go bankrupt," but Illinois will most definitely reach a point where they can't pay their bills, and will default on debt simply because there is no more money in the till, and no one will lend them any more.
I really want to see what happens then, especially to the likes of Emanuel, Madigan and the whole Democrat crew there.
In the last day or so I have been experiencing this same sentiment. It doesn’t take a genius to see that a storm is coming. I watch so many “Conservatives” turn traitor or are completely cowed into quiet submission. The radical leftists seem to be gathering boldness. Every time I open any newspaper it is always eagerly bashing Trump, unabashedly advocating for Democrats/Leftists and openly opposing Republicans.
I believe we have now passed critical mass. Should the unthinkable happen and Democrats solidify control in 2020 and it will be all over. Democrats will ruthlessly crush any possible resistance using the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the IRS, and yes, even the military and police forces.
The Dems are going to win next time. They import 1.2 million people per year, legally, most from socialist, third-world countries not to mention the highly skilled people who enter illegally. Eventually the globalists that are behind this will be exposed and how badly they have fooled us. I hope it’s not to late. We are headed for a race war.
Dems have no positive proposals. The next two years will be bogged down by investigations and protests and political attacks. I am sure it won’t go over with a majority of Americans.
Says the coward who won’t run again for mayor - because he’s ruined Chicago even further.
LOL! My prediction is that after Kanvenaugh and this election the Republicans will be more unified than ever.
