Native Californians knew not to build their houses in the hills or other areas subject to forest fires. In recent years that wisdom has been lost.

Agreed, they will never look around themselves and say “what can we do to mitigate these fire conditions before a catastrophe occurs”? It’s always blame someone else, and now that someone else is Trump.

If “climate change” is causing more forest fires, or making forest fires worse, why are there not more or more intense forest fires in other places around the United States and other parts of the world? Why is California always hit so hard? A critically thinking, rational person would come to the conclusion that the forest fire problem sits with California.

If they would stop draining the rivers to water lawns in SF they wouldn’t have this problem. Make SF desalinate.

Every 10 years or so the Malibu area gets a big wildfire. This one has been worse than most, but it’s not the first by any means.

There are ways to build homes in fire zones that have a good chance of surviving wildfires, and a lot these wealthy entertainers have the means to pay for it. It’s not required by the building code so this bunch may not have done so.

“Hopefully we can come together as a people to take climate change on. We have the tools and could do it if we tried. There is no downside.”

We could spend every dollar ever coined without making any discernible difference. Sorry you lost your digs but don't take it out on the rest of us.

“In a post on his website, Young said he hoped the calamitous fires would urged people to take action on the impact of climate change.”

Too bad Young didn’t get caught in the fire. I don’t know about the other two.
