And didn’t the good ole boy farmers put him over the top? After Trump has given Farmers alot more positive legislation vs Obama.

...the GOP ‘squishy caucus’ ranks have been whittled down to Ben Sasse and his imaginary better angel. There’s still Collins and Murkowski,

Unfortunately, Mittens is about to join this group.

It's hard to believe that Montana--a state that's red as a tail light--it even has no sales tax--would keep electing a leftist liberal like Tester.

Election tampering, again. It’s not the voters that count, it is the counters who vote that determine elections in commie countries, comrade which is what we have been for decades, only more open and brazen about it recently.

The house Rep got more votes? Sounds shady.

Montana has more ranchers than farmers. But, Tester’s win came from votes that came out of the liberal strongholds, Missoula and Bozeman. The places where all the California Liberals moved to because they thought it’d be cool to live in the mountains. Only, those places aren’t really the mountains. Anymore than Anchorage is really like rugged Alaska or Asheville is really like living in the mountains.

All four places, where probably at one time were decent places to live, are now filled with liberals with money that think they can brag that they live the “mountain lifestyle” and they are so rugged, because they were flannel every once in a while.

Mind you, the liberals in Asheville passed an ordinance that street lights and lights from businesses had to be turned off, so people could better see the stars at night as they walked thru the streets. Genius’s, they are.

I used to live in Montana and lived there when Tester was first elected. He was just a farmer rancher good old boy pretending to be a Republican.
But Montana is not a red state. Half of the state is red and the other half is bright blue. So many people have moved there from California Washington Oregon that you cannot count on Montana voters for anything.

Interestingly, Montana kept Tester in office for the same reason North Dakota dumped Heitkamp.

In my travels, I've found that there's one single major issue in most statewide elections in these Great Plains states: Where do you live, and how long have you been here?

If the GOP wants to win these elections, they should find a candidate who has lived in that state for at least 40 years. In Montana. running a candidate from Baltimore is like running a candidate from Baghdad.

Heitkamp lost because her opponent successfully painted her as a stooge for D.C. interests. Her Kavanaugh vote simply sealed the deal, since it confirmed that she was Heidi Heitkamp (D-Planned Parenthood), not Heidi Heitkamp (D-North Dakota).

Tom Daschle -- the sitting Democrat leader in the U.S. Senate -- lost his South Dakota seat in 2004 when it was revealed that he was taking advantage of a D.C. tax rebate program that required him to attest that D.C., not South Dakota, was his permanent residence. "Oh, you're not a South Dakota guy anymore, Tom? Then get lost and stay there in that sh!thole in D.C."

Party affiliation means less in these Great Plains states than it means anywhere else, it seems.

All good points, but I suspect the influence of those transplanted Californians is overblown.

Trump won Montana by more than 20 points, for heaven's sake. LOL.

The first place all the caravan aliens, and middle eastern type aliens ought to be sent when Democrats welcome them with open arms is to Montana. I heard there’s a lot of space out there for them.
Montana folks apparently are just willing to take them with, arms wide open.

Voters are generally speaking way too stupid as a group to figure out even the most obvious facts. This is why it is crucial for Republicans to effectively communicate the issues, what people should think about the issues and why their opponents are the wrong choice.

The dirty little secret, as with Alaska, the Montana good ole boys are on Obama Care/Medicaid, EBT cards and such. The rugged individual stuff is a myth. They’ve been bought and sold.....

John Tester wins every time because he is able to manipulate enough conservatives to vote Losertarian. His campaign always spends resources touting the Losertarian as the true “conservative”. Tester has never breached 50% in any of his election wins

“It’s hard to believe that Montana—a state that’s red as a tail light—it even has no sales tax—would keep electing a leftist liberal like Tester.”

Only explanation I can think of is that the people there must be under the impression he’s another Zell Miller. They believe they’re voting for a conservative Democrat.
