FULL TITLE: Dems to probe Trump's treatment of CNN, Amazon, Washington Post in triple-threaded abuse-of-power inquiries

The incoming chairman of the House Intelligence Committee this week said that when the new Congress is seated in January, Democrats plan to scrutinize whether President Trump abused his authority by taking adverse action against retail giant Amazon and two of his bitter left-leaning media rivals: CNN and The Washington Post.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said in an interview with "Axios on HBO" that he and his colleagues will employ committee subpoena powers -- which are backed by the legal threat of contempt of Congress -- to conduct the triple-threaded inquiry into Trump's possible use of the "instruments of state power to punish the press."

Specifically, Schiff charged that Trump "was secretly meeting with the postmaster [general] in an effort to browbeat" her into "raising postal rates on Amazon," whose founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, separately owns The Washington Post.

"This appears to be an effort by the president to use the instruments of state power to punish Jeff Bezos and The Washington Post," Schiff said in the interview.

The president signed an executive order earlier this year mandating a review of what he called the "unsustainable financial path" of the United States Postal Service (USPS). And he has reportedly met with Postmaster General Megan Brennan several times to push for hikes to the shipping rates paid by companies like Amazon, although there are no indications he did so to seek political payback.

Trump has long derided the political coverage at the Post, which is fiercely and relentlessly criticial of the White House, as a lobbying tool for Bezos. Most recently, the White House has contradicted the Post's claims that it "doctored" a video...

Ask Eric Holder how that works out for Congress...

Yeah, it didn’t hurt him a whole lot, did it? Trump should tell them where they can shove their subpoenas. They could hold us all in contempt of Congress, because we already hold most of them in utter contempt.

Keep praying everyone for the Lord to continue to reveal the persons of evil, corruption, and anti-America rhetoric and practices and remove these evil doers from their power of influence. In Jesus Name!

The Democrats will prove once and for all that the USA has become a banana republic.

Press Conferences only started under Woodrow Wilson. They are a privilege, and honestly the press only calls disagreeing with them a crime.

Just thinking the same thing. Apparently these idiots just have way too much tax payer dollars that enables them to go on these endless nonsensical “probes”. I understand taxes are necessary to run the government, but dayum!!

Dems would be seen bending over and “probing” themselves. Morons, all.

That is what is missing.

I am watching Fox News and NO ONE is comparing Obama’s treatment of the press to Trumps.

If my memory serves me, Fox News wasn’t EVEN INVITED to press conferences for lengthy periods of time.

He didn’t block a combative report but an entire network.

He didn’t have press conferences for long periods of time.

He sicced Brenner and the CIA on BOTH the press and Congress whenever he wanted.

No one is apparently remembering this but I bet some FREEPERS do.

This could backfire on them. Subpoena the networks to see if they’ve been targeting Trump.

Does the press not understand Trump’s Ibsen reference to “enemy of the people”? He is proving they are not as sophisticated and literary as they pretend to be, because if they were, they would thank him for calling them this. It is a test he has given them and they failed. In the play, the press and swampy types defame and discredit the lone hero swamp-drainer, (who in this case would be like Trump himself), calling him “The Enemy Of The People”. They do everything to the hero that the swamp keeps doing to Trump. It is uncanny. In the beginning the “enemy” is popular and everyone important takes advantage of his hospitality. When he tries to fix a problem potentially lethal to the town then the media and political types turn the town against him because fixing interferes with their power and money goodies already in place. Sounds familiar to me.

Amazing libs actually believe they can dictate Trump’s every move. It is great fun to watch them squeal.

Right now, the Democrats are at a crossroads, and they may take one of two courses in the 116th Congress. They may concentrate on legislation, or they may concentrate on investigation, but they cannot do both and do justice to either.

So far, they seem intent on investigations, endlessly and with no discernible goal, or path to even finding the outlines of what they pledge to do, which is to remove Trump from office. It is unclear to them whether they have any viable blueprint, and are not even sure what to charge Trump with, except they don’t like him.

Yes, they have chosen endless ravening investigations and will continue every day with raving, spittle flecked hatred in everything they do. The follow on question is what will the American people do when faced with a totally subverted House of Representatives and a media that might as well be propagandists for an enemy power?

But they can completely censor conservative voices and that's A-OK.

From their perspective that’s a feature, not a bug.

“Now it remains for us to replace the RATs with Nationalists not Republicans!”

Unfortunately, America doesn’t have that kind of time. The left are making their move right now.

“Republicans won’t fight to save the Republic like the Democrats will to destroy it. We are not going to get out of the current war without bullets without a real French revolution type purge.”

That’s the sad reality of it. In fact, most of the republicans are still fighting against Trump while our country is taking her last breaths. There is no hell hot enough for these scumbags

This will be one of several (numerous?) tax dollar wasting probes that will prove nothing. Oh, they might get the House to issue some sort of hand slap. But who cares? President Trump always has this country’s best interests as Job One.
